Another Telemarketer text spam just hit my mobile phone. It doesn’t matter if you’re on the do-not-call list because they actually never called you; they just texted you.
The latest one that came to my phone is from (310) 694-7870 and it says:
Dear homeowner, if you are struggling to make your mortgage payment or have a recent hardship, a modification can help. Would you like to learn more about this?
A query on Google reveals that others have also received such text message.
If you received such text messages, file a complaint to FCC (http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm).
Select the options in the following sequence:
- Wireless Telephone
- Telemarketing calls (including Do-Not-Call), prerecorded messages and unsolicited commercial emails received on a wireless phone

Check your phone bill. Verizon has charged me 9.99 each month for 5 months for data usage which turns out to be premium text messages that I received. Each month I received one of those Dear homeowner messges. I have asked them for a refund and they will block the origin.
SO they are not just trying to scam you into buying something, they have some how arranged to collect 9.99 for each message they send.
