Since I can now use Final Cut Pro 6 to “Log and Transfer” 1080p/24p clip from my Panasonic HDC-SD9, I will be posting more video sample from this camera.

It was a nice day, so I took a little walk and film some footage using Panasonic HDC-SD9. Check out the video, QuickTime 7 is required for playback.

  1. Hi,

as an owner of the same camcorder (but using Windows) environment, I’m checking your work. Unfortunately, I can’t play your videos (at least the short one with the guitar) as it’s encoded with something called ‘Apple ProRes 422’ and QT 7.4.5 doesn’t want to play it. I gues if it would be encoded in H.264 as many on the Apple site http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/hd/ are, there should be no problem.

So, is there any special reason to encode for Apple ProRes? If not, can you encode in (igues) more generally acceptabe H.264?

    Thanks,
    Gee

Thank YOU for pointing that out. The video clip was actually a raw video imported from Final Cut Pro. Final Cut Pro import the clip in either Apple Pro Res 422 or Apple Intermediate Codec. I’m re-encoding it to H.264.

  2. Awesome! The clip plays on Windows just fine with WinDVD9. Is enabling pull down removal for SD9 .MTS files on FCP as simple as activating Perian 1.1? Thanks!
