Mac OS X Leopard: Adding Printer
Printer Setup Utility is no longer included in Leopard. Adding printer can be done in the Print Dialogue box or through System Preferences.

My HP Photosmart printer is not being detected on the network. It worked in Tiger, but can’t figure it out on Leopard. My HP LaserJet printer showed up right away. Got any clues?
What model of Photosmart printer do you have? I so far have zero problems with many Network-enabled HP printer.
On Leapard Mac OS X 10.5.3, My IP networked HP Officejet Pro L7650 does *not* show up with the latest drivers from HP, ‘HP_Installer_OJPL7X00_v9.7.1.dmg’, UNTIL you apply the Leapard fix
in ‘HPv9.7Inkjet_OSX10.5_Update.dmg’. Then, it will find my networked printer, and install the drivers.
HOWEVER, it still doesn’t work. Attempts to print to it from my Mac result in ‘Communication Failure: The computer is no longer able to communicate with your printer. Turn the p’ errors.
Note that my PCs, running WinXP SP3 can print to it just fine, and I can open the printer’s web browser application, so nothing is wrong with the network connection.
All other network access works fine on my Powermac dual G5 also.
Seems to be more hosed device drivers from HP.
Note that this printer worked fine networked from my Powermac under Tiger OS X.

Man Oh Man – I second that notion…..
There isn’t a single HP Software Driver that really works the way they were intended….. keep away from these AIO (MF) printers – they suck
