I remember watching Armstrong step off the ladder down one of the legs of the lander when I was only 16. I was 16 and visiting the house of a new friend. Her father and siblings and I were gathered together watching it live in their living room.
When I looked over at my friend’s father after hearing Armstrong’s “One small step” comment, I noticed a tear in her father’s eye. I think I saw two great things that day.
