Apple has made it official, Mac OS X Snow Leopard will officially be released on Friday August 28th, 2009.

Qualifying purchase of computer or Xserve on or after June 8, 2009 that does not include Mac OS X Snow Leopard, you can upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard for $9.95 (Covers product plus shipping and handing fee. U.S. customers add appropriate sales tax).

Based on the overview, a few new features were taken out of the shipping version. For example, the ability to assign application to Spaces through the Dock. As of current it is unknown if Apple would include the “missing” promised features in future updates.
