HandBrake, an open-source, GPL-licensed, multiplatform, multithreaded DVD to MPEG-4 converter, available for MacOS X, Linux and Windows.

HandBrake 0.8.5b1 is released. Changes in this version:

Anamorphic, even in QuickTime
Surround sound (both AAC 5.1 and Dolby Pro Logic II)
Chapter markers (QuickTime-style)
Official support for the Windows GUI
PPC Linux support
High profile H.264
