Thanks for your posts regarding the yosemite release. I read in another post that you’re running yosemite on a 15″ 2010 macbook pro. Having the same model (upgraded with 8gb of ram and a ssd) I’m thinking on moving to osx 10.10 after the release, as there’re some new features I could make use of. Should I expect a well performing system with a fluent UI or is it better to stay on 10.9 mavericks? Thanks again!
It is working just fine. The one thing that doesn’t work is Handoff. That’s because 2010 MBP doesn’t have Bluetooth 4.0 LE. My usual advise to people is not to upgrade their production machine right away. Should you insist on upgrading, make a full backup of your Mavericks system or install it on a new drive.
Thank you. I’m trying Yosemite using a firewire drive and it performs nicely, even on an external unit. The only snag I find is the choppy scrolling when browsing Finder folders with many elements in it. In any case, I think I’ll wait until the system is more mature before upgrading.
I have the SSD internally installed. I do not see any choppiness. Hope that helps.
