I found another burnt out MagSafe the other day. I took it to the Apple Genius Bar and they replaced it under the Power Adapter Replacement Program.
Symptoms
If you received a notice that referred to Apple’s Power Adapter Replacement Program, read on to learn about strain relief and see the Resolution section to learn how to obtain a replacement adapter.Note: The program is available to eligible customers in the United States only.
Apple may provide customers a replacement adapter if the power adapter shows signs of strain relief. Strain relief is defined as a condition where the DC cable (the thin cord that attaches the MagSafe connector to the power adapter) separates from the end of the MagSafe connector or from the other end of the thin cord, at the power adapter. Don’t forget to bring your MacBook or MacBook Pro if you want to get it replaced under the program.
