UPDATE 06.15.2007
One thing that is different on the computer effected, it previously had Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 installed and uninstalled. This is not necessarily the cause. I’m still trying to find the culprit.
Out of numbers of Windows XP computers I installed Safari 3 Public Beta on, one is having a weird problem. All the texts are missing including within the page and the menu. I am not sure what is really going on since so far this only happens on one computer running Windows XP.
Click on the picture below for full resolution of the screen capture.
I have yet installed Safari 3 Public Beta on Windows Vista. That’s coming soon.
I have the same problem… XP SP2, updated. I tried on two PC, and the same thing happens, do not have menus, can not type anything in address bar or search bar.
I really wanted to see how it works.
Maybe it’s just missing font? I know it’s dumb, but can’t think of anything else.
There is release of Safari Betta 3.0.1 of Safari, with still no text on menus, or on the web pages. Are Apple viewing the comments on the web? Or they intentionally release program only for US English windows? Thats nonsense…
I am done with Safari.
I’m having the exact same problem with Safari 3 Beta on Vista… guess I won’t be trying it out afterall, lol
I have the exact same problem on one machine. It works fine on my XP native laptop, but my upgraded-from 98-to-XP machine that I have had forever, I have NO fonts.
I can MAKE fonts appear if I rename the 2 TTF Lucida Grande files in c:program filessafariSafari.resources, but they are all out of kilter since it is the wrong font.
So for SOME REASON, Lucide Grande is unliked by my XP install.
It also seems that Safari interacts with my Firefox install; font change in firefox when I run Safari (?!).
