Swift Blog for Apple Developer

Swift Blog Apple Developer

Apple has launched Swift Blog for Apple Developer.

This new blog will bring you a behind-the-scenes look into the design of the Swift language by the engineers who created it, in addition to the latest news and hints to turn you into a productive Swift programmer.

Get started with Swift by downloading Xcode 6 beta, now available to all Registered Apple Developers for free. The Swift Resources tab has a ton of great links to videos, documentation, books, and sample code to help you become one of the world’s first Swift experts. There’s never been a better time to get coding!

– The Swift Team

Previously Xcode 6 beta was available only to paying Developers.

iOS 8.0 beta 3, T-Mobile and WiFi Calling

Apple adds WiFi Calling to iOS 8.0 beta 3. At this point in time, T-Mobile is the only carrier in the USA that supports WiFi Calling feature.

I ask T-Mobile USA if currently they are supporting iOS 8.0 WiFi Calling. One T-Mobile USA representative adamantly stated that T-Mobile is not yet adding the support for iPhones, even though the feature is now built in iOS 8.0 beta 3.

WiFi calling is available on certain Android phones on T-Mobile USA network.

ILoveBender Email 1

Response number 1:

Dear New Friend,

Thank you for writing to me, Bender.  It really means a lot to me.  Not many humans contact me because I am so rude and impatient.  You’re starting to get on my nerves now.  Quit buggin’ me, meatbag!

P.S. – Buy my DVD.

Love,

Bender

Response number 2:

Aloha, Friend!

Bender Bending Rodriguez here, better known as the Robot King.  Did you know that the Hawaiian word “Aloha” can mean both “hello” and “goodbye”?  However, in the following usage, it only means goodbye.  Aloha, jerk!

Yours truly,

Bender

P.S. – Please buy my DVD.  And once again, aloha.  Jerk.

Dear Admirer,

Thank you for taking the time to write to me, Bender. Although I deleted your email without looking at it, I’m sure it was very boring. Write again soon!

Your robot pal,

Bender

P.S. – If you buy less than eight copies my DVD, you’re a cheapskate.
