Does New MacBook Pro Offer Optional Second Hard Drive In Lieu Of Optical Drive?

According to an imaginary source who claimed to be an Apple Executive that is definitely not Phil Schiller, Apple has been exploring the idea of including the option for second hard drive for MacBook Pro instead of the optical drive. In addition to that with slight redesign to the motherboard, MacBook Pro could house total of three hard drives. While details are unclear, Apple might offer MacBook Air style flash-based storage in addition to the 2.5-inch SATA hard drive and the Optical drive.

According to the same source, MacBook Pro refresh is “coming sooner than you think” while providing no details on the time-frame.

Bing vs. Google: Natalie Portman Ridiculous Movie

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine about movies. In the middle of conversation my friend mentioned an upcoming movie with Natalie Portman. The title of the movie eluded us, the only thing my friend remembered was the trailer was so ridiculous.

Naturally I opened a web browser and search for the phrase: “Natalie Portman Ridiculous Movie” using Google Search. Lo and behold, the first link did have the title and the trailer for the movie “Your Highness” (warning, site requires Flash, that’s for you, iOS users!).

I was curious what the supposed Google Search rival, Bing, would give me if I searched for the same phrase. Not even close, no mention of “Your Highness” from Bing results.

For comparisons, I am using bing-vs-google.com.

iOS 4.3 Personal Hotspot on AT&T, yeah it’s coming.

Some (Apple) news site are reporting the same thing:

The Wi-Fi hotspot feature is reported to be available on iPhone 4, not on iPhone 3GS. Current iOS 4.3 beta 3 supports up to 3 devices according to a source who insisted on anonymity.

Yet Another Text Spammer: (707) 407-9497

I just received another Text-Spam on my mobile phone. This is an unsolicited marketing ploy from unscrupulous individual(s).

This time is from (707) 407-9497

The Spam says:

Need some quick cash? You can easily get $1500 wired into your bank account today! For info, just reply back the word “PAY”.  (To cancel: reply STOP)

According to FCC, this type of “marketing” does violate CAN-SPAM Act.

You should file form 1088G to report this violation.

File a complaint on FCC site http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

You can also call 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-2255-322) voice; 1-888-TELL-FCC (1-888-8355-322) TTY.

Spammers are using URL shorteners a lot more.

I have been seeing a lot of questionable referrers in my WordPress statistic. They obviously are coming from spammers and scammers. For the past week or so there are a lot of referrers using URL shortening services such as tinyurl.com, bit.ly, etc. I cautiously opened the links to confirm my suspicions and almost all of them are pointing to domains I have already blocked.

While the URL shortening services are very valuable, they are also easily abused by the unscrupulous.

The Trouble with Vimeo Password Reset.

I’ve been trying to reset the password for Vimeo account and keep getting the same error.

Whoops! We are having some technical difficulties, please try again in a minute.

I have been trying to reset the password for the past two days and still getting the same error message. I could not contact Vimeo support because I need to log-in to do so. I guess I’ll create another account so I can contact them.
