Square requires new reader by June 1, 2014

As reported by 9to5Mac, Square has been notifying users to get the new Square Reader by June 1, 2014. The older version of the reader will no longer be supported.

We had ordered replacements for all of our Square Reders and they are coming really soon.

will I need to download a different program or app? Will I be able to just put it on my cell phone and use it immediately without any further changes?
