Apple announces that OS X Mavericks will be available on today October 22, 2013. OS X Mavericks is Free and available for download through Mac App Store.
On Monday October 21, 2013 Apple silently updated OS X Mavericks Golden Master from build 13A598 to build 13A603.
Apple has sent invitations to the upcoming “We still have a lot to cover.” event for October 22, 2013.
Apple is expected to unveil OS X Mavericks, new Mac Pro, new MacBook Pros and new lines of iPads.

From the announcement post, this maintenance release addresses 13 bugs with version 3.6.
Additionally: Version 3.6.1 fixes three security issues:
- Remote Code Execution: Block unsafe PHP de-serialization that could occur in limited situations and setups, which can lead to remote code execution. Reported by Tom Van Goethem. CVE pending.
- Privilege Escalation: Prevent a user with an Author role, using a specially crafted request, from being able to create a post “written by” another user. Reported by Anakorn Kyavatanakij. CVE pending.
- Link Injection / Open Redirect: Fix insufficient input validation that could result in redirecting or leading a user to another website. Reported by Dave Cummo, a Northrup Grumman subcontractor for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. CVE pending.
Additional security hardening:
- Updated security restrictions around file uploads to mitigate the potential for cross-site scripting. The extensions .swf and .exe are no longer allowed by default, and .htm and .html are only allowed if the user has the ability to use unfiltered HTML.

iOS 7 will be available as a free software update starting on Wednesday, September 18 for iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, iPad mini and iPod touch (fifth generation). Some features may not be available on all products.
Apple has seeded iOS 7 GM Build 11A465 to Developers as of Noon September 10, 2013.

On Tuesday September 10, 2013 Apple is expected to unveil new line-up of iPhone and the general release version of iOS 7. Apple is not likely to make any iPad announcement on that day. Meanwhile, according to sources who recently had been to Foxconn factory in China, Apple is likely to drop 64 GB iPad mini from iPad line-up this October. It is unclear why Apple would do so. Currently a 64 GB iPad mini retails for $529 and $659 for Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + Cellular models, respectively.
