Who would’ve known that one of the members of N.W.A. would be working for Apple and while the other one is the star of family comedy movies such as Are We There Yet? and Are We Done Yet?.
From Apple PR:
CUPERTINO, California—May 28, 2014—Apple® today announced it has agreed to acquire the critically acclaimed subscription streaming music service Beats Music, and Beats Electronics, which makes the popular Beats headphones, speakers and audio software. As part of the acquisition, Beats co-founders Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre will join Apple. Apple is acquiring the two companies for a total of $3 billion, consisting of a purchase price of approximately $2.6 billion and approximately $400 million that will vest over time.
Now that it is officially confirmed, we all can argue about the correct pronunciation of “Iovine”.
Apple seeds OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Build 13E9 to developers on Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
Apple is expected to preview the successor to OS X Mavericks at WWDC this coming June 2, 2014. Should Apple follow the current naming convention it would be called:
OS X 10.10
Pronunciation: OS Ten Ten point Ten
That’s a lot of tens.
What if it would be released on October 10, 2014?
Apple announced that WWDC 2014 Keynote will be streamed live at 10:00 am on Monday June 2, 2014.
One can assume that Apple has one big announcement at WWDV 2014.
According to firstnameatappledotcom, key Apple employees have been spending extra time this year at Foxconn factory in China; hinting at possible introduction of new hardware at WWDC 2014.
Another hint from firstnameatappledotcom:
“Consider the resolution scaling in MacBook Pro with Retina Display in the next iPhone.”
Care to guess what it is?
Apple WWDC 2014 is set to take place in San Francisco from June 2 to June 6, 2014.
According to our friend firstnameatappledotcom, there will be a pleasant surprise at the WWDC Keynote. We can’t wait to see what the surprise ie.
Many expect Apple to preview the next iOS and OS X at the Keynote while some expect an announcement of a new hardware or two.
In one week, it will all be revealed.
UPDATE:
Apple updated the SSL Certificate for swscan.apple.com on early Sunday, May 25, 2014.
——-
Late Saturday afternoon, a colleague told me that he was having issues getting software updates through the Mac App Store.
An error has occurred
The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “swscan.apple.com” which could put your confidential information at risk.
Upon further investigation, apparently someone at Apple forgot to install new SSL Certificate for swscan.apple.com.
Is it possible that a small company like Apple could not afford at least one person to make sure all their security certificate up to date?
Mr Tim Cook, I am available to do the one job. How about $200,000 a year sound?
