Apple Releases Boot Camp 1.4 beta

Just a few months before the release of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, Apple has once again updates its Boot Camp software.

Changes in Boot Camp 1.4 beta
Boot Camp 1.4 beta contains several updates and is intended for all new and previous Boot Camp beta users.

Boot Camp 1.4 beta includes:

  • Support for keyboard backlighting (MacBook Pro only)
  • Apple Remote pairing
  • Updated graphics drivers
  • Improved Boot Camp driver installer
  • Improved international keyboard support
  • Localization fixes
  • Updated Windows Help for Boot Camp

iLife ’08 Is Not Available in some Apple Retail Stores

Shortly after the announcements of iLife ’08 and iWork ’08, I called some Apple Retail Stores to confirm the availability of both software packages. To my surprise, all the Apple Retail Stores I called have on iWork ’08 but not iLife ’08. Every Apple Retail Store employee I talked to could not confirm the ETA of iLife ’08 at their respective locations.

Both iLife ’08 and iWork ’08 are available at Apple Retail Stores.

Apple Updates: iPhoto 7.0.1, Front Row 1.3.1, and Aperture 1.5.4

iPhoto 7.0.1 – 8.8MB
This update to iPhoto addresses issues associated with publishing photos from an upgraded library to .Mac Web Gallery.
iPhoto 7 is part of iLife ’08
Front Row 1.3.1 – 4.5MB
This Front Row update provides for improved iPhoto compatibility.

Aperture 1.5.4 Update – 129.7MB
Aperture 1.5.4 is required for compatibility with iLife ’08. This update is recommended for all Aperture users.
