Microsoft Patch Tuesday for February 2008

Microsoft releases updates for Windows and Office today.

As usual, the updates are available through the Automatic Updates, or through Microsoft update site.

AppleTV Take 2
Apple has finally released Apple TV Take 2 software upgrade today. This upgrade enables amongst other the movie rental feature, and the “independence” from a computer. Watch AppleTV guided tour here.
(I don’t have AppleTV, so can’t really tell you anything else.)

Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.5.2 and Then Some

Apple releases Mac OS X 10.5.2 (build 93C1) today, one day early as expected. The combo Update is update is weighing in at 343MB for Mac OS X and 382MB for Mac OS X Server.

Side Note: If all the info from the imaginary source *wink-wink* are correct, we shall see new MacBook Pro release on Tuesday February 12th, 2008. My MacBook Pro Core Duo is not as powerful to handle AVCHD movies.

Camino 1.5.5 is Released

The Camino Project has just released Camino 1.5.5 to address web compatibility.

Camino 1.5.5 contains the following improvements over version 1.5.4.

  • Upgraded to version 1.8.1.12 of the Mozilla Gecko rendering engine, which includes several critical security and stability fixes.
  • When quitting after closing all tabs, Camino will no longer crash.
  • Opening a .url file with “Open downloaded files” enabled will no longer cause Camino to attempt to download the file repeatedly.
  • Camino will no longer crash when using the Trash button in the Downloads window.
  • Pressing Tab in an editable table view now advances to the next control properly on Mac OS X 10.5.
  • Camino now sets the default home page properly on first launch.
  • When saving a web page as a PDF from the Print dialog, Camino suggests the page’s title as the filename.
  • Camino now hides the cursor when using the Page Up and Page Down keys.
  • Upgraded the “Block Flash animations” code to use Flashblock 1.5.5.
  • Improved ad-blocking.
