First I adjusted the color and contrast. I soften the background and foreground, keeping the focus on Unicorn T. Kitten.

Unicorn and I

I’ve been fostering Unicorn for a while now. I just realized that Unicorn is a boy. I’m not good at telling kitten’s gender.

AirPort Utility: Create hidden network

We had a request from someone to stop AirPort Express broadcasting the SSID, for security purpose.

Hiding Wireless network SSID does not really enhance security.

Unfortunately, this tactic may lead to a false sense of security, as it only impedes casual wireless snooping, and does not stop a determined attack on the network.

There are numerous of tools that can scan any hidden SSID.

Just in case anyone still want to hide their AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme SSID:

In AirPort Utility, go to “Wireless” and click on “Wireless Options…”

Check the box for “Create hidden network”

January 2nd at an Apple Store

I went to an Apple Store earlier today, picking up an AirPort Express. The store was so crowded considering holiday season is over. The Apple Store still has the Express Holiday Checkout section and a lot of people coming in buying Apple products using Apple gift cards.

I walked in the Apple Store and headed straight to where the AirPort Express were. I use the Apple Store App on my iPhone and use the EasyPay. A minute later, I was walking out of the Apple Store without even have to interact with any Apple Store employees.

For some reasons I always thought that someone would tackle me as I was walking out with a product I just bought.
