Master Of Puppets (Remastered) – Deluxe Box Set

I picked up Master Of Puppets (Remastered) – Deluxe Box Set that I pre-ordered from Amazon at one of Amazon pickup locations.

Master of Puppets (Remastered) hit the street on Friday, November 10, 2017 but the Deluxe Box Set was not delivered until Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

This limited edition deluxe box set contains a lot of things:

  • Three vinyl records (with a MP3 Download Card)
  • Ten CDs, two DVDs
  • One cassette
  • A hardcover book including never-before-seen photos
  • A folder containing handwritten lyrics
  • A set of six buttons, and
  • A “Damage, Inc.” lithograph.

Wait a minute, a “cassette”?
What is it?
How do you even play this “cassette”?

Thankfully, Amazon includes AutoRip of the box set, including the cassette (tape). I didn’t even have to use the MP3 Download Card. The cassette contains fan recording from Solnahallen, Stockholm, Sweden – September 26th, 1986; it was Cliff Burton’s last show.

Eight songs off Master of Puppets, tracking in at 54 minutes and 46 seconds, reinvented heavy music in 1986.

On March 23, 2016, Master of Puppets was selected as one of 25 recordings that were added to the National Recording Registry; as it is deemed as “cultural, artistic and/or historical significance to American society.

I would like to add that Master of Puppets is culturally, artistically and historically significant to the world.

Re-Master of Puppets

Due on Friday, November 10, 2017

Master of Puppets is the third of Metallica Remastered series, following Kill ‘Em All and Ride The Lightning.

Currently Master of Puppets (Remastered Deluxe Boxset) is available for pre-order at Amazon for $137.49. It is also available for purchase directly from Metallica for $174.99 plus shipping & handling.

You can also watch Master Of Puppets (Live At The Roskilde Festival) video from the boxset.

I pre-ordered the Deluxe Boxset the day it was announced. Master of Puppets is definitely one of the best records ever made.

Ernie Ball: The Hetfield + Hammett Experience

Ernie Ball Hetfield Hammett Experience.jpg

This is something that I’ve been meaning to post for two weeks. Finally I get to pick up a few packs of Ernie Ball strings at a local Guitar Center. I am working on a few guitars this week.

From Metallica:

What do James and Kirk do when they’re not on tour?  Hang out at HQ!  And now you have the chance to hang with them!  In conjunction with our friends at Ernie Ball, makers of fine guitar strings and instrument accessories, three lucky winners will be coming to the San Francisco Bay Area to spend the day with James and Kirk at HQ AND get their choice of a Hetfield or Hammett Signature ESP Guitar.

Head to www.ernieball.com/metallica for more details.

“We have the box!”

What is this “UMGD”?

What’s this “Friday Street Date”?

It is commemorating a 30 year anniversary of something that became really huge.

It is related to music history.

Orange Micro Terror Stack MT20 & PPC108, the Arrival

Orange Micro Terror Stack MT20 & PPC108 we ordered from Amazon.com just arrived today, thanks to Amazon Sunday Delivery.

Inside the the box, along with the Orange Micro Terror Stack MT20 and the Orange Amplifiers PPC108 1×8 20W Speaker Cabinet, an Orange Kirlin 10ft Instrument Cable is also included. Based on the comments on Amazon.com, the cable is not always included as it is not part of the product description.

We’re going to have fun with it. For sure we are going to pair the Orange Amplifiers PPC108 1×8 20W Speaker Cabinet with the JOYO banTamP ZOMBIE Mini Tube Head we purchased a few weeks ago.

Orange Micro Terror Stack MT20 & PPC108

Orange Micro Terror Stack MT20 & PPC108 is coming from Amazon.com to our office this Sunday. We originally were going to get just the Orange Amplifiers PPC108 1×8 20W Speaker Cabinet to use with the JOYO banTamP ZOMBIE Mini Tube Head. We figured out, why not get the Orange Micro Terror Stack MT20 too.

We love the JOYO banTamP ZOMBIE Mini Tube Head as it was able to power a 2×12 Cabinet, albeit not to its full potential. That’s why we decided to get a 1×8 20W Cabinet, in case we’re going into the hobby/business in reviewing guitar accessories.

Can’t wait for Sunday to come.
