Rust In Peace was released on September 24, 1990. Regarded as one of the most influential Heavy Metal records of all time.
Dream Theater’s fourteenth studio album “Distance Over Time” is officially released on Friday, February 22, 2019.
The album clocks in under 1 hour, without bonus track “Viper King”.
“Room 137” lyric was written by Mike Mangini , which is a first for Dream Theater.
After the first listen of the album in its entirety, not counting the first three songs (“Untethered Angel”, Paralyzed”, and “Fall into the Light”) which were made available prior to the album release; “At Wit’s End” and “Viper King” stand out.
I need to listen to this album a lot more time to form any further opinion.
The second single off Dream Theater’s upcoming “Distance Over Time” record is now available for listening.
It is also available for purchase from among other, iTunes.

“Distance Over Time” is due on February 22, 2019.
One tip I learned from my Guitar Tech Friends and Luthiers: use mineral oil to maintain your guitars. You don’t need to buy the overpriced “special” scented fretboard oils. For about $2.00 you can get mineral oils from your local pharmacy, supermarket and hardware store. You want to use odorless and “food-safe” mineral oil.
For example, Target sells “Mineral Oil USP, Lubricant Laxative” for $1.99.
Informative video series from ESP Tech Corner on setting up EverTune Bridge.
Pretty impressive invention to keep guitar staying in tune which was invented around 2010 per Wikipedia page.
At this time I only see ESP Guitars equipped with EverTune Bridge in the stores.
Other than that, Kiesel Guitars offers EverTune Bridge as build-to-order option for $300.
Bang Your Heads Like It Is 1988… again!
The reissue and expanded version of “…And Justice For All” is coming on November 2, 2018.
Thanks to Metallica.com, we get the Cassette and 3CD versions a little bit early; the Box Set is scheduled to arrive on the release date.
“…And Justice For All” (Wikipedia) was originally released on August 25, 1988. It was the first full-length record featuring Jason Newsted on bass, filling in for Cliff Burton who was tragically killed in a bus accident on September 27, 1986. The song “One” is notable for being the first video single from Metallica. It was also nominated and won for the first Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.
This reissue is remastered but not remixed. For those who hoped for the bass tracked to be turned up in the mixed shouldn’t hold their breath.
The Cassette version also comes with MP3 Download card.
