Dream Theater: “Black Clouds & Silver Linings” has been shipped.

I just got an email notifications from Amazon.com. They are shipping Dream Theater’s “Black Cloud & Silver Linings” Special Edition CD out. Since I opted for standard shipping, I won’t be getting it on Tuesday.

GarageBand ’09: Crashing Problem.

According to a colleague, GarageBand ’09 often crashes when changing project tempo. While there is no known fix yet, we’re expecting Apple to release update to GarageBand, hopefully soon.

Slacking is good, as I’ve been convincing myself. It’s Saturday and I’m still reading stuff off the internet.

First I’ve finished installing new hard drive on my MacBook Pro Core Duo, 20 minutes after I stareted it. Along the way I also managed to “fix” my keyboard. For a few days I’ve been having lots of typoes including the letter “t.” Apparently a drop of liquid caused the “g, r, and y” key to trigger the “t” key. I’m glad it is fixed now.

About the 1st generation iPhone/push notification post: an apology (TUAW) | TUAW was quick to jump to conclusions.
Microsoft confirms Nvidia ‘Tegra’ chip for Zune HD (CNET) | Pretty powerful chip from NVIDIA. Note to CNET: It is “Hybrid Digital” Radio, not “High-Definition” Radio.
Smart fish discovered in Europe (worldarea.info) | I for one welcome our fish overlord.
New Kids on the Block blame lousy ticket sales on recession (WalletPop) | Are you sure that recession is to blame? New Kids on The Block is now a novelty-cash-grabbing-reunion-act. It is a simple supply-and-demand situation.

iTunes App Store: Application Rating

With the official release of iPhone OS 3.0, Apple has added ratings to iPhone Apps.

For example, search for “nin: access” in the iTunes App Store. It will show the ratings for the apps if available.

Explanation for the ratings:

Many has speculated that Apple would ease the App-submission process once the rating system is well implemented.

iPhone OS 3.0 is Officially Released

June 17th, 2009 (U.S. date – June 18th in some other countries.)

Apple release iPhone OS 3.0 for iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch (1st and 2nd gen). iPhone OS 3.0 is available at no extra cost for the iPhone and iPhone 3G, while it costs $9.95 for the iPod touch.

To obtain iPhone OS 3.0 for iPhone:

Install iTunes 8.2 (minimum requirement), download it from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/.
Connect the iPhone/iPhone 3G to the computer and launch iTunes.
Sync your iPhone/iPhone 3G, this way iTunes will backup your files.
Import all photo from iPhone/iPhone 3G using iPhoto/Image Capture/Aperture or Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard.
Select the iPhone/iPhone 3G and click on “Check for Update”
iTunes will automatically download iPhone OS 3.0 and start the installation.

To obtain OS 3.0 for iPod touch:

Install iTunes 8.2 (minimum requirement), download it from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/.
Connect the iPod touch to the computer and launch iTunes.
Sync your iPod touch, this way iTunes will backup your files.
Select the iPod touch and click on “Check for Update,” when prompted you can choose to purchase OS 3.0 through iTunes Store
