Ten years to the day.

Ten years to the day, there are things I don’t remember and there are things I won’t forget.

Things that I knew to happen ten years ago:

Slayer – God Hates Us All
Dream Theater – Live Scenes From New York

Those were the two of many releases scheduled for September 11th, 2001. Live Scenes From New York original artwork featured a flaming apple with New York skyline including the twin towers of World Trade Center. Lyrical themes of God Hates Us All seems to be prophetic with the event of September 11th, 2001.

What happened that day changed how we live our lives. Would there be warrantless electronic surveillance in the news? Would there be long security lines in the airport? Would the governments demand backdoor to be built in encryptions? Would governments ask RIM for access to their secured network?

Ten years to the day…….

Upcoming Money Spending: Anthrax and Dream Theater.

September 13th, 2011 would be one of those days when I spend my hard earned cash money on actual CD’s. The last one I purchased was Foo Fighters‘ “Wasting Light” if I remembered it correctly.

Dream Theater – A Dramatic Turn Of Events

I like what I hear from these two albums so far. By the way, why am I still calling it “album”?

Metallica performed at Dreamforce convention.

This is where Tech news intersects with Music News. Metallica performed at Dreamforce convention in Moscone Center, San Francisco on August 31st, 2011. Metallica was giving away tickets in the hundreds through the Met Club.

In somewhat related “news”, Leo Laporte attempted to sing “Battery” and “Enter Sandman” on TWiT 316.

Apple Store, SoHo to host Anthrax Meet and Greet. Scott Ian is a damn Mac user.

It is not a secret that Scott Ian of Anthrax is a Mac user. According to Willie Gee, Ian edits his videos such as this one using iMovie on his MacBook Pro.

Well, Anthrax is scheduled to make an appearance at the Apple Store, SoHo on Wednesday September 7th, 2011 as reported by Blabbermouth.net.

Spotify and Century Media Records

Century Media Records has pulled their music catalogue off Spotify. This prompted the tech community to ask the question:

“What is this Century Media Records?”

Spotify then responded to Century Media Records by touting numbers that include some Dollar signs.

How am I supposed to listen to Nevermore and Iced Earth on Spotify now?

So, I’m on Spotify now.

I finally created my Spotify account today. For sure I would start with the free account for now.

By the way, I am also on Google+ for “research” purpose and I don’t really have a Facebook account.

Foo Fighters: iTunes Festival 2011 video is now available

Foo Fighters iTunes Festival 2011 video is now available for viewing. The performance was originally broadcasted live on July 11th, 2011 from London through iTunes Festival app and iTunes.

In the middle of the show during “Skin + Bones” (time stamp 1:51:22) Dave Grohl ejected an audience off the show room for starting a fight.
