Lamb of God: Rand Blythe’s Legal Fund

This is one piece of news that I have been wanting to post for the past two weeks or so. Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe is currently detained in Czech Republic and the bail is set around $200,000.

For those who want to contribute to Randy Blythe’s Legal Fund can make donation at Lamb of God’s Facebook page.

One hundred percent of the money raised will go to the legal fees and any remaining balance will be given to a charity of Randy’s choice upon his release.

In the United States, there is a little thing called “Due process.”

Adam Yauch of Beastie Boys died at the age of 47.

From BeastieBoys.com

Adam Yauch • 1964-2012

It is with great sadness that we confirm that musician, rapper, activist and director Adam “MCA” Yauch, founding member of Beastie Boys and also of the Milarepa Foundation that produced the Tibetan Freedom Concert benefits, and film production and distribution company Oscilloscope Laboratories, passed away in his native New York City this morning after a near-three-year battle with cancer. He was 47 years old.

Rest in Peace.

P.S.
Up to this day, we still fight for our right to party.

Slayer’s Open Letter to their fans.

From Slayer.net:

AN OPEN LETTER TO SLAYER FANS AROUND THE WORLD:

…….

While Jeff’s been doing some writing and has been coming to rehearsal over the past several weeks, he has decided he needs to take more time to continue his rehab. While we want him back onstage with the band, all of us support his decision. So, we’re very grateful that Gary Holt will continue to fill in for Jeff, and will tour with us until Jeff completes his rehab and is ready to return. How long will that be? The best and most honest answer we can give you is ‘as long as it takes.’ We also wanted you to know that we’ve been doing some writing and recording for the next Slayer album – we’ve tracked a few songs, and will finish the album when we’re off the road later this year.

…….

Well wishes to Jeff Hanneman.

Recording using GarageBand on iPad.

One of the coolest feature of GarageBand is the ability to do multi-track recording. For quiete some times, I had been meaning to record a few song ideas and finally I did it today. This time I’m using GarageBand on iPad.

I am working on the arrangement of the song, For Now.

Van Halen: A Different Kind Of Truth

A Different Kind Of Truth, the latest full length studio recording from Van Halen with David Lee Roth 28 years after 1984 (the title and the release year of the album). Gone is Michael Anthony, replaced by a Van Halen, Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen’s son on Bass duty. So that’s 3 Van Halens (Alex, Eddie and Wolfie) and David Lee Roth. Consider this Van Halen IV.

I received the CD, yes CD, one day after it hit the streets, and one day earlier than what Amazon.com promised. All is good. I immediately imported the CD into iTunes; synched to iTunes Match, Google Music and Amazon Cloud Drive. Best of both worlds, having the physical CD and in the cloud.

Anyway, I listen to the CD and I generally love it. To me it is almost like a follow up to 1984. Wolfie definitely inherits his family musical talents. I’m going to listen to A Different Kind Of Truth a few more times today.
