Amazon Adds Video Streaming to Paid Amazon Prime Membership.

Amazon announces that its Paid Amazon Prime Membership now includes Video Streaming in addition to the Free 2-Day Shipping.

SEATTLE, Feb 22, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) —

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) today announced the launch of a new benefit for Amazon Prime members: unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of more than 5,000 movies and TV shows. This new benefit is being added at no additional cost — Prime membership will continue to be $79 per year. Amazon Prime’s all-you-can-eat free Two-Day Shipping has already attracted millions of members. Roku box supports Amazon VOD in addition to Netflix. Apple TV and Boxee do not have native Amazon VOD support.

Amazon Student does not get the video streaming features since it is a free Amazon Prime Membership.

If there were an Amazon Video Streaming App for the iOS, it wouldn’t be conflicting with Apple iOS subscription rules.

Bing vs. Google: Natalie Portman Ridiculous Movie

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine about movies. In the middle of conversation my friend mentioned an upcoming movie with Natalie Portman. The title of the movie eluded us, the only thing my friend remembered was the trailer was so ridiculous.

Naturally I opened a web browser and search for the phrase: “Natalie Portman Ridiculous Movie” using Google Search. Lo and behold, the first link did have the title and the trailer for the movie “Your Highness” (warning, site requires Flash, that’s for you, iOS users!).

I was curious what the supposed Google Search rival, Bing, would give me if I searched for the same phrase. Not even close, no mention of “Your Highness” from Bing results.

For comparisons, I am using bing-vs-google.com.

The Mad/Reno “Threesome” Show with Johnny Sanchez, Jill-Michele Meleán and Carlos Alazraqui.

I am heading out to see Johnny Sanchez, Jill-Michele Meleán and Carlos Alazraqui in Burbank in a few minutes. I’ve worked with both Jill and Carlos for many years. I met Johnny during the filming of “The Club” back in late 2009 and early 2010.

Miro Video Converter

Miro Video Converter is available at the Mac App Store.

I was looking into converting some videos into Google’s WebM format for comparison purposes. I first downloaded theWebM QuickTime Component from WebMProject.org but it never worked. Miro Video Converter turns out to be the one I need to create WebM videos for now. It is loaded with preset video format for quick conversion. It supports formats for Android Devices, iOS Devices and WebM among many.

Miro Video Converter is available for Mac OS X and Windows.

Saturday Night Live, The Social Network and Mark Zuckerberg.

I would like to say that I have not watched Saturday Night Live in 10 something years, I only checked facebook once a week or less and I have not seen The Social Network. I would also like to say that I was involved in the making of The Social Network, a small role in the production.

Apparently Mark Zuckerberg is making a cameo on Saturday Night Live with Jesse Eisenberg as host. How do I know that? Twitter. Wired.com said so.

Recap:

  • Have not watched Saturday Night Live in years.
  • Have not watched The Social Network even though I did some work for the production.
  • Have a Facebook account, but not really active on it.

I guess I won’t be talking about this Saturday Night Live when other people do (that’s you, Leo Laporte and TWiT).
