A lot has happened for the past week and I’m still catching up.

Interplanetary Correspondent: GWAR lead singer Oderus Urungus’ new role on ‘Red Eye’ (FOXNews Red Eye) | Definitely the better correspondent on FOXNews.
First screenshots of Windows 7 build 7600 leak (Ars Technica) | It is speculated that this build might be the RTM one.
Shuttle launch scrubbed for second straight day (CNN) | Blame it on the weather. Speaking of Space Exploration, an important anniversary is coming up.
Microsoft’s Silverlight 3 (Silverlight.net) | Silverlight should scare Adobe into cleaning up the mess that is known as Flash.

Testing some raw clips from AVCHD camcorders, and I found out the the current incarnation of Windows 7 can play AVCHD without any additional codecs/programs.

Our Friend, Comedian Cain Lopez Passed Away.

Sad news, our Comedian Friend Cain Lopez passed away at 2:00 PM Thursday July 9th, 2009. He was hospitalized since May 30th for an illness that was later found to be lung cancer.

Cain was diagnosed and treated for jaw cancer back in 2003. He reportedly was having trouble breathing back in May 2009 and was admitted to the hospital where he’s diagnosed with some form of lung cancer.

Cain’s family were by his side during his stay in the ICU. Many of his comedian friends visited him during his last few days. A pleasant surprise came from George Lopez who left a moving message through Darren Carter.

I saw Cain Lopez performed number of times before introduced to him by Darren Carter. I took Lopez’s picture at Denny’s in Fullerton on December 23rd, 2009.

WordPress 2.8.1 is Released.

The great folks at WordPress.org have just released maintenance update to WordPress software. WordPress 2.8.1 can be obtained through WordPress.org site or can be automatically upgraded through WordPress Dashboard.

Apple Seeds Snow Leopard Developer Preview Build 10A402

Thursday July 9th, 2009 afternoon; Apple seeds Mac OS X Leopard Developer Preview Build 10A402. The update is available through Software Update and weighs in on 1.31GB.

As usual, Apple Developer Connection members are bound by the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

From Software Update:

This Snow Leopard Developer Preview Update is recommended for all users running the Snow Leopard Developer Preview Build 10A394 or later. This update includes general operating system fixes for stability, compatibility, and security.

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Developer Preview is not recommended for casual users and production system since it still contains numbers of software bugs.
