Upcoming Review: Sony DSC-HX5V Digital Camera.

Sony has been airing the ad with Taylor Swift using DSC-HX5V for the past few weeks (months?). I finally got my hands on one. On loan, of course. I can’t spend my money on it, not in this economy. P.S. Simon, where’s my paycheck?

Anyway, this camera is the next generation of point and shoot digital camera. It records AVCHD video, and it has GPS built-in. The “iSweep Panorama” is the killer feature of this camera. No more the awkward picture stitching to make that panoramic one. It is really easy to do on this camera.

Anyway, I’ll be taking this camera on Saturday to a wedding; Carlos Alazraqui’s.

Expect a full review really soon!

In the meantime here’s a picture taken using Sony DSC-HX5V iSweep Panorama feature, re-compressed using Adobe Photoshop.

Comedy Central removed feedback page amidst South Park Controversy.

A few readers noted that Comedy Central has removed feedback page after receiving record numbers of complaints regarding South Park-Mohammed-censorship Muslim-Terrorist-Death-Threats controversy.

RANTS:
I understand that Comedy Central has acted on the best interest of their employees, Matt Stone and Trey Parker. Unfortunately such action exactly what the creators of South Park are against of. Stone and Parker wrote Cartoon Wars Part I and II with the message that we should not cave in to the demand of terrorists. As portrayed in Cartoon Wars episodes, Comedy Central is now burying their heads in the sand; pretending to hear nothing, see nothing and speak nothing.

There is nothing civilized for a group of people who represent the Muslims to threaten other human being with bodily harms and deaths. I know that there are those in this world who would blindly sides with this act of terror.

Congratulations Comedy Central, we’ve just lost another ground. You should have not backed down!

END OF RANTS.

Firefox 3.6.4 is somewhat available.

I saw an update notice for Firefox 3.6.4 on one of the computers today. As always, I let it update. Wen I tried updating Firefox on other computers for some reasons no updates found.

Was Firefox 3.6.4 released and immediately pulled?

Mystery solved! Apparently someone installed Firefox 3.6.4 beta on that particular computer.

Apple hints iPhone OS 4 and next iPhone release sometimes in early July 2010.

According to an imaginary source who claimed to be an Apple Executive that is definitely not Phil Schiller, Apple is aiming for early July 2010 for the release of iPhone OS 4 and the next iPhone (dubbed as iPhone 2010). July 2nd might be a possible release date.

Apple is somewhat planning to announce the public availability of iPhone 2010 and iPhone OS 4 at WWDC on June 7th, 2010 in San Francisco.

In addition to iPhone OS, Apple is also somewhat planning to reveal a thing or two or five about its Mac OS X platform.

iPhone SDK 4 beta 3 and iPhone OS 4 beta 3 are released.

Details are scarce due to Apple Developers NDA. According to sources iPhone SDK 4 beta 3 and iPhone OS 4 beta 3 are released.

Notes from the imaginary sources:

  • So far beta 3 is using less memory than beta 1 & 2.
  • Lots of bug fixes.

As usual, please do not install any beta releases unless you understand the risk. Beta softwares are generally buggy.

Since the knuckleheads at 9 to 5 Mac already revealed some of the features from iPhone OS 4 beta 4:

Portrait Orientation Lock and iTunes Control

More info if they’re made available.
