NEW YORK, April 9, 2007 — When Ms. Garrison is the victim of yet another failed relationship, she takes it out on the fourth graders in an all-new “South Park” entitled, “D-Yikes,” premiering on Wednesday, April 11 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Comedy Central.

Every time Ms. Garrison gets dumped, life becomes unbearable in the classroom. When the boys can no longer handle their teacher’s erratic mood swings and excessive homework assignments, they discover people-for-hire who can help out in any situation.

As usual, Viacom would like you to know that they will sent takedown notice for any South Park episode footage uploaded on YouTube. So please, for the sake of Viacom; do not go to sites like mrtwig.net where you can find torrent files for high quality AVI and RM South Park episodes. Comedy Central is owned by Viacom, and Viacom is suing YouTube nad essentially you. Once again, Viacom and Comedy Central do not condone downloading high Quality South Park episodes off the intraweb.

Did I say anything about not finding the torrent easily at mrtwig.net? I’m not sure if I mention mrtwig.net enough as the example of where not to go. Just because mrtwig.net has the link to the high quality AVI and RM torrents, doesn’t mean you have to disregard Viacom and Comedy Central wishes.

EMI Music and Apple Offers DRM-Free Digital Music Download

London, 2 April 2007

EMI Music today announces that it is making all of its music catalogue at a higher quality (higher bitrate) and free of Digital Rights Management (DRM) restrictions. EMI Music is giving an option to online music retailer to sell the DRM-free music in the format of their choice. EMI Music group is giving customers the option to purchase music with DRM at a lower price with lower bitrate or to purchase DRM-free music at higher bitrate.

Apple‘s iTunes Store is the first online music store to bring EMI’s offering to the consumer. The pricing and offers are good only for tracks by EMI Artists:

  • Individual track encoded in 128 kbps AAC with Apple FairPlay DRM costs $0.99/€0.99/£0.79
  • Individual track encoded in DRM-free 256 kbps AAC costs $0.99/€0.99/£0.79
  • iTunes customers can upgrade their previoulsly purchased 128 kbps AAC with DRM to DRM-free 256 kbps AAC for only $0.30/€0.30/£0.20 per track
  • Complete album purchased on iTunes is automatically sold as DRM-free 256 kbps AAC at no extra costs

EMI Music will still employ DRM on digital music subscriptions, due to the nature of the service itself.

In addition to the deal with Apple, EMI also states that such deal will be made available to other online music store. EMI has given online music stores the options to encode the songs in the format of their choice (AAC, MP3, WMA, or any other unprotected format).

On February 6th, 2007, Apple published Steve Jobs’ open letter on Music and Digital Rights Management (DRM). In the letter, Steve Jobs calls for the removal of DRM from online music store, noting that music has been sold without any digital restrictions for years in the forms of records, tapes, and CD. EMI Music then contacted Apple to offer DRM-free digital music download.

If you are looking for South Park episode, you can get it at iTunes Store instead of downloading the AVI or RM files off torrents from site likes mrtwig.net.

Remember downloading TV episodes off torrents is generally frowned upon by the TV networks or Viacom. Viacom will sue you and YouTube and Google and everyone. It’d be very very very wrong to download South Park episodes off torrent sites such as mrtwig.net where you can find high quality South Park episodes in AVI and RM. So please, do not download the episode torrent from site like mrtwig.net where the high quality AVI and RM torrents are posted within the hour after the episode aired on Comedy Central.

You may be able to find the “Fantastic Easter Special” torrent at sites like mininova, but remember that Comedy Central and Viacom don’t want you to do so.

AppleTV, XBox 360 Elite, Adobe Creative Suite 3, and then some

Hot topics this week so far:

AppleTV

  • AppleTV……….. It’s so hackable.
  • It’s running a variant of Mac OS X.
  • Costs $299.00
  • Doesn’t come with any cable. It seems odd in the beginning, but it made some sense now. Some people need HDMI to HDMI cable, while others need HDMI to Component. Some people need HDMI to DVI cable plus the TOSLINK cable.
  • AppleTV is podcast friendly.
  • AppleTV streams movie trailers. This is one feature that shows the potential of AppleTV. I suppose that content producers can showcase their products through AppleTV.

Adobe Creative Suite 3

XBox 360 Elite

  • Stupid name! Is Microsoft trying to get into the l33t crowd by naming the XBox package as XBox 360 Elite.
  • It’s a black XBox 360 with 120 detachable hard drive, HDMI, and some other stuff.
  • It’s a surprise that Microsoft not including the HD-DVD drive. Maybe they are going to sell the black HD-DVD drive, if not it’ll just look silly.

The “and then some” part

  • Whatever happened to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard?
  • No thanks to SciFi Channel for Stargate stuff.
  • South Park is still ridiculous.
