iLife ’09 and Mac Box Set are Arriving on Tuesday

At MacWorld San Francisco 2009, Apple announced that iLife ’09 would be shipping sometimes in late January. On Monday January 26th, 2009 Apple announced that iLife ’09 would start shipping on January 27th, 2009. Some reported that Best Buy had started selling iLife ’09 on Monday January 26th.

Apple has started fulfilling pre-orders of iLife ’09 and Mac Box Set on Monday and most are arriving on Tuesday January 27th. I’m waiting for the Mac Box Set to arrive at anytime today as it is being delivered by FedEx.

Mac Box Set offers a great value for those buying both iLife ’09 and iWork ’09. It comes with the latest Mac OS X disc for an extra $10 on the retail price. Remember that most of newer Macs comes with its own Mac OS X install disc that wold only work with specific models. If you bought a Mac Pro 6 months prior and you could not find your discs, Mac Box Set is the answer.

iLife ’09, iWork ’09, and Mac Box Set are now available for purchase from Apple and many other retailers.

Drew Carey Brings The Crowd to Laugh Factory in Long Beach

Drew Carey performed at Laugh Factory in Long Beach on Saturday Night. Carey brought along some of the cast of Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway? to entertain the crowds in two sold out shows.

Laugh Factory’s Jamie Masada personally welcomed Drew Carey and his comedy troop to the venue.

Long Beach Laugh Factory first opened on September 4th, 2008. Well known comics such as Paul Rodriguez, Brett Garrett, John Lovitz and Dane Cook have graced the stage since then.

Circuit City Website is Closed

Starting January 16th, 2009 Circuit City website is closed. The site no longer displays any products and accepts any online orders.

Circuit City is closing all of its 567 stores across the United States. Closing sales will start as early as Saturday January 17th, 2009.

Selections of F.A.Q. regarding Circuit City Closures:

  • Circuit City is shutting down operations in the United States. Circuit City will still operate in Canada through The Source.
  • Circuit City Gift Cards can be redeemed throughout the liquidation sales.
  • Circuit City’s extended warranties are backed by third party independent companies and are not affected by the closures.

There are a lot of news items that I have not writte about yet for the past 7 days. It’s time for me to catch up with them.

Steve Jobs is going on a medical leave of absence.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs today sent the following email to all Apple employees:

In order to take myself out of the limelight and focus on my health, and to allow everyone at Apple to focus on delivering extraordinary products, I have decided to take a medical leave of absence until the end of June.

Palm is back with a new OS and new SmartPhone in the form of Palm Pre. It looks promising so far, and some anti-Apple movement crowd are hoping that Palm Pre would be the iPhone killer.
