Google Drive for iOS.

Google Drive for iOS is now available at the App Store.

Google Drive comes with 5 GB of free storage. Additional 25 GB of storage for Drive and Picasa costs $24.99/year. The additional storage is also available through in-app-purchase; that means Apple is getting $7.50 for each upgrade through the app.

Google drive is also available for Android, Mac and Windows OS.

Countdown to MobileMe Extinction, T-Minus 27 Days.

MobileMe service is scheduled to end on June 30th, 2012 and users (read: subscribers) are encouraged to move their account to iCloud. Individual MobileMe account came with 20 GB of email and iDisk combined storage. iCloud comes with 5 GB of free storage for iOS backup and Email. That’s not a lot of storage if you had multiple iOS devices (and Macs with OS X Lion or newer). Apple is giving MobileMe users complimentary iCloud storage upgrade after the move.

MobileMe members with 20GB of purchased storage receive a complimentary iCloud storage upgrade of 20GB, and accounts with additional purchased storage (40GB to 60GB) receive a complimentary upgrade of 50GB after moving to iCloud. These free upgrades are good through September 30th, 2012. After that date, you can continue the upgrade at the regular price or let it expire and use the free 5GB plan.

One thing MobileMe should be aware of is the size of their mailbox should they choose not to purchase additional iCloud storage: the size of the mailbox. Clean up your mailbox before moving to iCloud or September 30th, 2012.

Yahoo! Axis: View Page As Desktop

One nice feature of Yahoo! Axis is the ability to View Page As Desktop.

In Safari, iCloud.com automatically redirects to an iPad-specific page. Yahoo! Axis can load the desktop version of iCloud.com. That means any of your friends can borrow your iPad to check his/her iCloud email.

Wait a minute…

  • Does anyone use iCloud email?
  • Why is it a good thing to let your friends use your iPad?
