Amazon Adds Video Streaming to Paid Amazon Prime Membership.

Amazon announces that its Paid Amazon Prime Membership now includes Video Streaming in addition to the Free 2-Day Shipping.

SEATTLE, Feb 22, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) —

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) today announced the launch of a new benefit for Amazon Prime members: unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of more than 5,000 movies and TV shows. This new benefit is being added at no additional cost — Prime membership will continue to be $79 per year. Amazon Prime’s all-you-can-eat free Two-Day Shipping has already attracted millions of members. Customers can learn more about an Amazon Prime one-month free trial and start watching instantly at www.amazon.com/primevideos.

Roku box supports Amazon VOD in addition to Netflix. Apple TV and Boxee do not have native Amazon VOD support.

Amazon Student does not get the video streaming features since it is a free Amazon Prime Membership.

If there were an Amazon Video Streaming App for the iOS, it wouldn’t be conflicting with Apple iOS subscription rules.

iOS 4.3 Personal Hotspot on AT&T, yeah it’s coming.

Some (Apple) news site are reporting the same thing:

The Wi-Fi hotspot feature is reported to be available on iPhone 4, not on iPhone 3GS. Current iOS 4.3 beta 3 supports up to 3 devices according to a source who insisted on anonymity.

iOS 4.3 is coming as early as late February or early March, 2011.

UPDATE:
The source clarifies:

iPad announcement around March 1st, 2011. The March/April date is not for MacBook/MacBook Pro.

So when will the new MacBook and MacBook Pro be released?

Sooner than you’d expect.

Apple is also reported to unveil new models of MacBook and MacBook Pro line late March or early April, 2011.

The Apple Ratio

Apple announces the launch of Subscriptions on the App Store and firmly establishes the Apple Ratio; 70:30.

It would’ve made more sense for everyone if Apple say that any Apps must include the In-App-Purchasing option if it has an Put-Of-App-Purchasing option. The same goes with subscriptions. I’m pretty sure there will be a lot of arguments to be made here.

Uninspiring Thursday: iPhone 4 on Verizon and more on Bing versus Google.

I feel so uninspired even though there’s a lot of news today.

iPhone 4 on Verizon are available in stores.
It’s February 10, 2011. The launch day for iPhone 4 for Verizon. It feels like last week news though, just like the iOS 4.2.6 for CDMA iPhone 4. The firmware was made available in late January 2011.

Bing beats Google, so someone says.
Some Analysis firm says that Bing is better than Google. Then Google’s Matt Cutts responds.

Till next time.
