Apple Seven-for-One Stock Split

Apple-7-for-one-Stock-Split

June 9, 2014 is the first trading day for Apple stock (AAPL) following the Seven-for-One split.

AAPL closed at $645.57 ($92.22 on post-split adjustment) on Friday, June 6, 2014. After the Seven-for-One split, AAPL closes at $93.70 on Monday, June 9, 2014.

Surprisingly, Forbes, a huge business/financial publications does not really understand how stock split works.

According to Forbes, AAPL plummeted by $551.87. Not sure if Forbes is either incompetent or lying.

The Swift Programming Language

home-hero-swift-hero

I am really excited about Swift Programming Language that was introduced at WWDC 2014. I have downloaded the book from iBooks Store.

The Swift Ptogramming Language on iBooks

I learned C and C++ back in college and actually became a T.A. for two semesters teaching them. After a while I was bored with programming until recently, doing web-programming with PHP and CSS. I have had a few ideas and prototypes of iOS Apps but none of them was ever finished. Swift Programming Language has brought some sparks back in me to get back into programming again.

So You want to install iOS 8 Beta

Apple seeds iOS 8 beta to Developers on Monday, June 2, 2014 following the WWDC Keynote. Usually, beta Operating System comes with bugs and more bugs. If you want to  install iOS 8 beta, please consider the followings:

  • Do not install the iOS 8 beta if you do not want to deal with the bugs.
  • iOS 8 beta will not make you any cooler among your friends, if you had any.
  • Should you still be compelled to install iOS 8 beta after reading the two points above, install it on your second device if available.
  • Do not complain if your favorite apps do not work properly.
  • Avoid giving money and your UDID to some shady-money-grubing sites.
  • Do file bug reports.

Anyway, look at the awesomeness of an iOS 8 bug.

So You want to install OS X Yosemite Beta

OS X 10.10

Anyone can join the OS X Beta Program and download OS X Yosemite 10.10 Developer Preview. The truth is that the current Developer Preview build is definitely not for you.

Why?

There are still tons of issues with this particular build. A lot of visual tweaks needed.

Should you still insist on installing OS X Yosemite 10.10 Developer Preview, do yourself a favor by installing it on a different drive than you working drive.

In four weeks we should see a much better build of OS X Yosemite Developer Preview.
