iPhone 4, the summary.

Steve Jobs has left the stage and iPhone 4 is now officially introduced. We now know a few about iPhone 4.

Select iPhone 4 Features:

FaceTime can utilize both front and rear facing cameras for video-chat from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi. Steve Jobs mentioned that Apple is working with carrier to allow FaceTime over the data network such as 3G.

Retina Display on iPhone 4 features 960-by-640-pixel resolution at 326 ppi combined with IPS screen. Four times the pixel count of previous iPhones.

Apple Haters already called WWDC 2010 Keynote “a boring non-event” an hour before it even started.

Surprise, surprise!

Apple Haters Worldwide have already called the WWDC 2010 Keynote as “a boring non-event” an hour before it even started. Based on a telepathically stollen notes from Paul “Microsoft Defender” Thurrott, the only good thing about the Keynote was the announcement of inclusion of Bing into Apple’s closed ecosystem. Thurrott still insists that Microsoft Windows 7 Mobile Phone 7 number Seven already crushed the iPhone. “You still can’t get Microsoft Office and Silverlight and Zune and Steve Ballmer’s hair on the iPhone” says Thurrott. He even added that iPhone OS 4 is an evolutionary upgrade from iPhone OS 3; unlike Microsoft’s Seven Windows 7 Phone Seven Series Seven Ultra The Seventh.

Rob Enderle of The Enderle Me-Myself-and-I group is busy writing his fifth column of the day berating the upcoming WWDC 2010 Keynote. Enderle compares Apple with The Legionaire of Doomsday; similar to Legion of Doom™ but not as trademarked. Enderle believes that WWDC 2010 Keynote is a front for Apple to open a portal to free Ktulu.

Some Android hardcore fan proclaimed that the watever next iPhone be called is lame. That’s because the iPhone 4gettable doesn’t have 10-inch touchscreen and access to free market. The Android hardcore fan points out that no one can get a dedicated porn apps on the iPhone. “What’s the point having something you can touch with porn in it?”

Meanwhile, Jason Chen is sitting at home reading WWDC 2010 Keynote live coverage on other sites. Jason said: “I disassembled the next iPhone prototype, who wants to touch me?”
Eric Cartman calls Jason Chen “lame.”

Last day to get iPad 3G Unlimited Data Plan.

June 6th, 2010 will be the last day to get Apple iPad 3G Unlimited Data Plan for $30/30 days.

The $30 Unlimited iPad 3G data plan will no longer be available for any iPad 3G purchased after June 6th, 2010. After that you’d only be seeing this:

If you are currently on the $30 Unlimited Data Plan, you can keep it after June 6th, 2010 as long as you keep renewing the Data Plan. If you are currently on the $15 for 250MB, you can get the $30 Unlimited Data Plan if you switch by June 6th, 2010.

Apple WWDC 2010 Live Keynote Coverage Links.

It is that time of the year again when Apple is hosting a Conference to its Developers. Yes, Steve Jobs will be kickstarting WWDC 2010 on Monday June 7th, 2010 10:00 AM Pacific Time.

Here’s an early list of the sites who would bring you the live coverage; it will be updated as more become available:

As usual, there will be sites providing some kind of live coverage of WWDC 2010 Keynote. I wonder if Gizmodo will be there after their failed attempt to extort Steve Jobs for access?

UPDATE: Brian Lam from Gizmodo claims that Apple won’t respond to their requests to attend WWDC. (via Daring Fireball)

Apple did not release iPhone OS 4 beta 5 which was expected on June 1, 2010. It is likely that Apple will show more of the iPhone OS 4 features exclusive to the next iPhone, what ever it called (iPhone 4? iPhone 4G? iPhone A4? iPhone Extreme Championship Editions?).

According to our telepath who probed the mind of an Apple Executive who is definitely Scott Forestall, the next iPhone (hardware) will not be available during the WWDC week. There will be auxiliary announcements related to the next iPhone, including Apple’s “reactions” to AT&T New Wireless Data Plans. Based on the telepathic source, Apple is planning to make the next iPhone available for sale between late June and early July. That’s June 25/26 or July 2/3 weekend.

Do I need to worry about AT&T new data plan? Apparently not.

I first was a bit worried about the new AT&T data plan, then after I checked my data usage I worried no more. I realized that most of the time I’d be in areas where I always have access to Wi-Fi network. I apparently used a lot less bandwidth on AT&T data network than I thought. Without any access to the Wi-Fi network, I’d easily gone over the newly introduced 2GB data cap in a week or less. I guess I’ll be paying AT&T less for my phone service.

For the past 6 months, my data usage never go over 1GB per month.

If I were to get an iPad 3G, I’d have no problem paying for the lesser data plan thanks to all those Wi-Fi Access Points.

AT&T Axes iPhone Unlimited Data Plan Starting June 7th, 2010.

UPDATE: According to AT&T post, current customers can keep their plan when upgrading to new phone; including the upcoming iPhone. It still not clear if customer with existing plan can add tethering option.

AT&T will no longer be offering Unlimited Data Plan to new customers starting June 7th, 2010 coinciding with Apple Worldwide Developer Conference. Currently iPhone (and other smartphone) customers on AT&T can enjoy unlimited data plan for $30. While current customers can keep their existing plans, the iPhone 4G (or whatever Apple will name it) will come with the new data plans. AT&T will finally allows Tethering to iPhone users with this new Data Plan.

The new wireless data plans – including a new tethering option – will be available beginning June 7.  Current AT&T voice and texting plans are unchanged.

The new AT&T plans provide large amounts of data to enable people to enjoy their favorite online activities:

  • DataPlus.
    Provides 200 megabytes (MB) of data ……. If customers exceed 200 MB in a monthly billing cycle, they will receive an additional 200 MB of data usage for $15 for use in the cycle.
  • DataPro.
    Provides 2 gigabytes (GB) of data ……. Should a customer exceed 2 GB during a billing cycle, they will receive an additional 1 GB of data for $10 for use in the cycle.

With the new wireless data plans, pricing for a smartphone voice and data bundle now starts at just $54.99 per month for an individual plan, or $24.99 per month for an additional line on a FamilyTalk plan, $15 per month less than the price of the previous entry level bundle.

It seems that AT&T would never allow tethering with unlimited data plan.

AT&T to allow iPhone Tethering starting June 7th, and it will cost additional $20.

AT&T will be offering Data Tethering plan starting June 7th, 2010 coinciding with Apple Worldwide Developer Conference.

The new wireless data plans – including a new tethering option – will be available beginning June 7.  Current AT&T voice and texting plans are unchanged.

The new AT&T plans provide large amounts of data to enable people to enjoy their favorite online activities:

For new iPad customers, the $25 per month 2 GB plan will replace the existing $29.99 unlimited plan. iPad customers will continue to pre-pay for their wireless data plan and no contract is required. Existing iPad customers who have the $29.99 per month unlimited plan can keep that plan or switch to the new $25 per month plan with 2 GB of data.

It seems that the upcoming iPhone comes with this new data plan.
