It seems that a deal has been reach to end US Government Shutdown.
From Barack Obama’s Tweet:
Thanks to the millions of Americans who made their voices heard and helped bring the shutdown to an end. Now let’s get back to work.

From Time.com:
Both the Senate and the House of Representatives voted to reopen the federal government and lift the debt limit on Wednesday evening, after an 11th-hour agreement reached earlier in the day by Senate majority leader Harry Reid and minority leader Mitch McConnell. The Senate voted 81-18 in favor of the measure, while the House voted 285-144 in favor.
It only took sixteen days, right?
I wonder what’s coming up next.

“Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers” will not air as previously scheduled due to power loss at South Park Studio. It is widely known that South Park episodes are usually made in six days up to the last minute possible before the episode premieres.
“Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers” will air next Wednesday, October 23, 2013 instead.
From the announcement:
Episode 1704 will not air tonight
On Tuesday night, South Park Studios lost power. From animation to rendering to editing and sound, all of our computers were down for hours and we were unable to finish episode 1704 “Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers” in time for air tonight. Trey Parker said, “It sucks to miss an air date but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen.”
Apple releases Java for OS X 2013-005.
From the release notes:
This release updates the Apple-provided system Java SE 6 to version 1.6.0_65 and is for OS X versions 10.7 or later.
This update uninstalls the Apple-provided Java applet plug-in from all web browsers. To use applets on a web page, click on the region labeled “Missing plug-in” to go download the latest version of the Java applet plug-in from Oracle.

I do not really have the need for Java if not for Adobe Creative Suite.

From Square Press Release:
SAN FRANCISCO – October 15, 2013– Today Square, the company making commerce easy for everyone, introduced Square Cash; a new service that makes sending money as simple as sending an email.
With Square Cash, individuals no longer need to write checks, pay ATM fees or wait for forgotten loans from friends. Customers simply send an e-mail to the person they’re paying, and after the recipient enters their debit card number, money is directly transferred to their bank account.
…….
Square Cash is free to send and receive, and there is no signup process. Funds are directly deposited into the recipient’s bank account, rather than held in a stored balance account.
To send their first payment, customers simply compose an email by filling in the following fields:
- To: [email address]
- Cc: cash@square.com
- Subject: $ [amount]
- Send!
Customers then receive an email prompting them to link a debit card to fund their first payment. To accept a payment, the recipient enters their debit card number once, and will automatically receive funds to their debit card thereafter.
Square Cash is also available for Android and iOS.
——-
One question: “What would happen if someone hijacked the initial email to link the debit card?”
By the way Gmail users can also send money through email using Google Wallet.
