iPod Original, 12 Years To The Date.

iPod Original 12 Years Bad Religion White Christmas

The original iPod was introduced at Apple Campus by the late Steve Jobs on October 23, 2001. It went on sale on November 10, 2001 and retailed for $399 MSRP.

Twelve years later, the iPod pre-ordered on October 23, 2001 is still in my possession. It still works.

I loaded a collection of Christmas songs from iTunes Music Store which is the latest cash-grab-attempts by Bad Religion, aptly titled “Christmas Songs“.

I used this iPod for many years until I got a free iPod mini in the Summer 2004 thanks to Apple’s “Back to School” promotion.

AmazonSmile

I have recently made aware of AmazonSmile, which apparently has just launched at the end of October, 2013.

What is AmazonSmile?
AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support your favorite charitable organization every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization. You can choose from nearly one million organizations to support.

…….

How much of my purchase does Amazon donate?
The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. The purchase price is the amount paid for the item minus any rebates and excluding shipping & handling, gift-wrapping fees, taxes, or service charges.

Can I receive a tax deduction for amounts donated from my purchases on AmazonSmile?
Donations are made by the AmazonSmile Foundation and are not tax deductible by you.

How can I learn more about AmazonSmile?
Please see complete AmazonSmile program details.

High Fructose Unicorn Syrup The Cat

We might as well call him High Fructose Unicorn Syrup The Cat, because he is so sweet. OK, his name is still Rufus Cornelius “Unicorn” The Cat.

Built-In USB Interface on Western Digital Hard Drive

This is one reason why I will not buy Western Digital Passport Hard Drive. It has a built-in USB interface on the hard drive itself instead of Serial-ATA one. I prefer to have hard drive that I can physically mount on other devices through Serial-ATA instead of USB.

Mavericks Mail Update

Apple issues Mavericks Mail Update on Thursday November 7, 2013.

This update improves stability and compatibility with Gmail, and includes fixes for users with custom Gmail settings.

For more information on this update, see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6030

Mavericks-Mail-Update

About the update

Mail Update for Mavericks includes improvements to general stability and compatibility with Gmail, including the following:

  • Fixes an issue that prevents deleting, moving, and archiving messages for users with custom Gmail settings
  • Addresses an issue that may cause unread counts to be inaccurate
  • Includes additional fixes that improve the compatibility and stability of Mail

One thing that I noticed the first time I used Mail on an early OS X Mavericks Developer Preview builds with Gmail:

  • Mail displays the contents of “All Mail” folder in the “Archive” section
  • Mail displays the contents of “Spam” folder in the “Junk” section.

One Long Wednesday

We all here at 37prime were having on long Wednesday. When the clock struck 23:00 hour Pacific Standard Time, we still have a lot of thing to do. Alas, we all are tired.

  • New South Park Episode just aired and we missed it. “Ginger Cow”
  • We don’t care about the mystery of Google Barge.
  • There’s a Blockbuster store one mile from our HQ and it’s about to be closed down.
  • Twitter? IPO? Tomorrow?

Anyway, we’re tired and the designated blogger, yours truly, is too lazy to come up with something to write today.

Here’s what we feel like.
