So, I’m on Spotify now.

I finally created my Spotify account today. For sure I would start with the free account for now.

By the way, I am also on Google+ for “research” purpose and I don’t really have a Facebook account.

Now what’s next?

New Product Week from Apple.

Apple is expected to release some products following its Fiscal Year 2011 Third Quarter Results Conference Call. The earnings call is scheduled on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, 2:00 p.m. PDT/5:00 p.m. EDT.

Mac OS X Lion is expected to make its public debut later this week. Analysts are calling for new MacBook Air, Mac Pro and Mac Mini release following Mac OS X Lion. Apple has seeded Mac OS X Lion to Developers and begun approving Lion compatible apps on Mac App Store.

Our sources had been adamant that Lion would see its public debut by Friday, July 22, 2011.

The Android in Peril.

There are a lot of people cursing Apple’s name for suing HTC over Android. The ITC sides with Apple and concludes that HTC violates 2 of Apple’s patent. Sean Ludwig of VentureBeat dares to scream the headline: “Why Apple’s ITC patent victory over HTC Android phones is scary“.

It is pretty apparent that Apple-hating is so trendy these days in lights of the Apple v. HTC lawsuit. Unfortunately a lot of people seems to forget that HTC has waived the white flag when Microsoft came knocking. HTC is paying royalties to Microsoft for every Android phone it sold. Hating Microsoft is apparently so 1998. Does anyone remember that Microsoft recently demands Samsung to pay $15 for each Android phone it makes.

Microsoft is asserting some ownership to Android, that’s a bigger threat. HTC is not the only company to pay Android royalties to Microsoft.

Blame it on how easy anyone can abuse software patent.

Amazon.com and California, the Sales Tax War Rages On.

Previously on Amazon.com and California:

Amazon.com terminates its Associates Program in California in response to Governor Jerry Brown signing the law that requires online retailers to collect sales taxes even though they don’t have any physical presence in California.

The New York Times reports that:

Amazon said this week that it would push a voter initiative in California that could eliminate sales tax for virtual sellers with only a modest physical presence in the state.

Amazon.com founder and CEO Jeff Bezos supports the streamlined sales tax initiative, which should be legislated by the federal government.
