Seems Legit: Amazon.com

How could Amazon tells me that my order has been cancelled when I did not place the order? In addition to that, the cancelation notice was sent to an email that has never been used for Amazon account.

It is with great sadness that we confirm that musician, rapper, activist and director Adam “MCA” Yauch, founding member of Beastie Boys and also of the Milarepa Foundation that produced the Tibetan Freedom Concert benefits, and film production and distribution company Oscilloscope Laboratories, passed away in his native New York City this morning after a near-three-year battle with cancer. Slayer’s Open Letter to their fans.

From Slayer.net:

AN OPEN LETTER TO SLAYER FANS AROUND THE WORLD:

…….

While Jeff’s been doing some writing and has been coming to rehearsal over the past several weeks, he has decided he needs to take more time to continue his rehab. While we want him back onstage with the band, all of us support his decision. So, we’re very grateful that Gary Holt will continue to fill in for Jeff, and will tour with us until Jeff completes his rehab and is ready to return. How long will that be? The best and most honest answer we can give you is ‘as long as it takes.’ We also wanted you to know that we’ve been doing some writing and recording for the next Slayer album – we’ve tracked a few songs, and will finish the album when we’re off the road later this year.

…….

Well wishes to Jeff Hanneman.

iPad with Verizon LTE Speed Test, Miami edition.

I am in Miami, Florida on assignment. Being here and the nature of the assignment remind me of RENO: 911!: Miami movie. Anyway, I am brining an iPad with Verizon LTE enabled. I did a few speed test and the screenshot below pretty much sums it all up. 15.96 Mbps down and 2.40 Mbps up.
