Kerry King Project

Early in February 2013, Kerry King was talking about the next Slayer album:

“I’m very comfortable saying that it will be out this year.”

Slayer fans, don’t get your hopes up just yet. The status quo have changed since the news of Dave Lombardo being benched from Slayer Australian 2013 Tour broke on Thursday February 21, 2013.

Jeff Hanneman is still recovering from necrotizing fasciitis and most likely won’t be contributing to the next Slayer record as of yet.

“I have enough material on my own if need be, but I’m open,” King says. “If Jeff comes to the party with some new material, hell ya! I will play all the guitars. I’ve been playing all the guitars for years anyway, except for Jeff’s leads.”

Perfect for Kerry King Project, with Tom Araya on vocals and bass.

Zendesk were hacked

Most people had no idea who or what Zendesk are, but they should. Zendesk provides customer service portals to companies such as Pinterest, Tumblr and Twitter. Zendesk revealed in their blog that they’ve been hacked.

Pinterest, Tumblr and Twitter have been sending notices to their affected users regarding the security breach.

From Tumblr support:

Important information regarding your security and privacy

For the last 2.5 years, we’ve used a popular service called Zendesk to store, organize, and answer emails to Tumblr Support. We’ve learned that a security breach at Zendesk has affected Tumblr and two other companies. We are sending this notification to all email addresses that we believe may have been affected by this breach.

This has potentially exposed records of subject lines and, in some cases, email addresses of messages sent to Tumblr Support. While much of this information is innocuous, please take some time today to consider the following:

  • The subject lines of your emails to Tumblr Support may have included the address of your blog which could potentially allow your blog to be unwillingly associated with your email address.
  • Any other information included in the subject lines of emails you’ve sent to Tumblr Support may be exposed. We recommend you review any correspondence you’ve addressed to support@tumblr.com, abuse@tumblr.com, dmca@tumblr.com, legal@tumblr.com, enquiries@tumblr.com, or lawenforcement@tumblr.com.
  • Tumblr will never ask you for your password by email. Emails are easy to fake, and you should be suspicious of unexpected emails you receive.

Your safety is our highest priority. We’re working with law enforcement and Zendesk to better understand this attack. Please monitor your email and Tumblr accounts for suspicious behavior, and notify us immediately if you have any concerns.

Slayer responds to Dave Lombardo

Slayer has responded to Dave Lombardo’s post regarding his outage from Australian Tour 2013.

Slayer confirms that Jon Dette (Testament) will drum for the band on its Australian tour that starts this Saturday, February 23 in Brisbane.

As regards Dave Lombardo’s Facebook post, Slayer does not agree with Mr. Lombardo’s substance or the timeline of the events, except to acknowledge that Mr. Lombardo came to the band less than a week before their scheduled departure for Australia to present an entirely new set of terms for his engagement that were contrary to those that had been previously agreed upon.

Umm, by saying Slayer, it is Kerry King.

Slayer is grateful to its Australian fans for their understanding of this unfortunate last-minute change, and very much looks forward to seeing them at these shows.

Translation: “Come see two original members of Slayer plus Gary holt of Exodus and former drummer of Slayer playing Slayer songs.

Kerry King can’t afford to lose Tom Araya. Should Araya leave Slayer, then it would be KKP; Kerry King Project.

SLAYER?!

Chromebook Pixel

UPDATE:
Chromebook Pixel Order Page

Google introduces Chromebook Pixel.

The WiFi version ($1,299 U.S. and £1,049 U.K.) will start shipping next week and the LTE version ($1,449) will ship in the U.S. in April.

Yikes!

This Chromebook has the highest pixel density (239 pixels per inch) of any laptop screen on the market today. Packed with 4.3 million pixels, the display offers sharp text, vivid colors and extra-wide viewing angles. With a screen this rich and engaging, you want to reach out and touch it—so we added touch for a more immersive experience.

It’s noce to have the touchscreen, but I still can’t get over the price.

If you’re interested in a hands-on experience, you can visit select Best Buy (U.S.) and Currys PC World (U.K.) store locations.

I’ll check it out. Once again, $1,299 for a Chromebook?

Slayer, sans Dave Lombardo again.

UPDATE:
From Dave Lombardo’s Facebook Page

I tried rectifying it by letting my band mates know, and Tom and I hired auditors to figure out what happened, but I was denied access to detailed information and the necessary back up documents.

So Tom Araya and Dave Lombardo seemed to agree. Since Jeff Hanneman is still benched, I guess it’s up to Kerry King.

Metal Hammer reports that Slayer will be performing without Dave Lombardo in Australia. Incendiary headline says:

Dave Lombardo Fired From Slayer?!

Metal Hammer also includes statement from Dave Lombardo on the breaking news. No official words yet from Slayer camp.

Slayer has been touring without Jeff Hanneman due to medical reason. Without Lombardo, only two original Slayer member on the stage. This might be an end to Slayer.
