After more than 2 weeks of submissions, WordPress 2 is now available on iTunes App Store.
Metallica has invaded iTunes App store with two officially sanctioned apps. Lars Ulrich needs more money to get his gold-plated shark tank installed next to his pool.
Tapulous – Tap Tap Revenge: Metallica
Includes the following ten songs:
They actually included a song off St. Anger.
From Metallica Mailing List:
Finally, everyone who purchases Tap Tap Revenge: Metallica will be entered to win cool stuff, including the grand prize of a trip to Las Vegas for the show there on December 5, including airfare, hotel, tickets (duh!) and meet and greet passes. Click here for more info about the contest.
Tap Tap Revenge: Metallica is priced at $4.99 at U.S. iTunes App Store.
The second Metallica sanctioned app is Live Metallica app (Metallica news item).
In our ongoing efforts to be of service and give you as many options as possible in the digital era, we asked the brainiacs that help us out with LiveMetallica.com to come up with a super cool iPhone application that creates a streaming interface to your LiveMetallica account. In non-tech talk, that means that any show you have downloaded from the site will automatically stream to your iPhone once you launch the $.99 app. And the bonus is that the latest show on the site will always be streaming for free!
According to CNET News, All Things Digital and many others; Microsoft has cancelled the Windows 7 Family Guy Special (Infomercial).
In a statement, a Microsoft representative said the show–a variety show to be done by Alex Borstein and Seth MacFarlane–was not “a fit with the Windows brand.” Microsoft had hoped to use the show to tout its just-released Windows 7 operating system.
Seriously, what is Microsoft worrying about?
So far, the Windows 7 Family Guy snipets have been universally deemed as unfunny by viewers. All the available clips are nothing but re-dubbed Family Guy scenes with horrible lip-sync. There are nothing funny in the dialogues.
Maybe Microsoft just found out that Seth McFarlane is a hardcore Mac user.
Actually Microsoft said that they finally saw an episode of Family Guy and were horrified with the off-the-wall jokes in the series. Seriously, no one in Microsoft ever heard or watched Family Guy? I don’t believe that. Seth took no prisoners. I wonder if he get to keep the money he took.

Having been using Windows 7 since the early Beta to the RTM and now the retail version, I really think that it is a knee-jerk reaction to consumers’ knee-jerk reactions to Windows Vista. If that’s not a run-on sentence then please pretend that it is not.
Windows 7 is definitely an improvement over Windows Vista. It seems to run snappier than Windows Vista. Under the hood, Windows 7 is not much different than Windows Vista. The UI in Windows 7 resembles of that Windows Vista’s. So what’s new with Windows 7?
The tech community seems to agree that Windows 7 is a polished Windows Vista. It is Windows Vista cleaned-up. I can’t help myself from asking the question why Windows 7 still costs to much for consumer to buy? Are there any significant benefits upgrading to Windows 7 from Windows Vista? Is it wise to upgrade a Windows XP computer to Windows 7?
Honestly, it’s better to buy a new computer with Windows 7 pre-installed.
Windows 7 now features a less annoying UAC (User Account Control). If you’re running as an administrator, UAC will bug you a lot less to a point it wouldn’t bug you at all. In a way that’s a step back in security from Windows Vista.
I am interested in what Microsoft could come up with the successor to Windows 7. Plase do not call it Windows 8.
I went to the Apple Store earlier today to help a friend buying a MacBook Pro earlier today. While waiting, I had a chance to play around with the new 27-inch iMac and the Magic Mouse.
The new 27-inch iMac looks really nice with its 16:9 screen ratio. The black borders now extends to the edges of the body. The screen itself looks spectacular. One of the best large computer screens I have ever seen. The iMac lines now sport SD/SDHC card slot positioned below the Optical Drive slot.
The new iMac initially ships with Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.1 build 10A2155 that includes the Magic Mouse support.
The Magic Mouse itself is surprisingly small and low-profiled. It feels a little bit heavy for its size and yet light enough to move around. Using the two-finger swipe takes a bit to get used to. I found out for me it is easier to use the thumb and index finger to swipe instead of using the index and middle finger.
I will be buying this Magic Mouse for review purpose. Unfortunately it was not available in stock at the local Apple Store today.
