Google Maps 2.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

Google Maps 2.0 is now available for download, it now natively supports iPad in addition to iPhone and iPod touch.

What’s New in Version 2.0

  • New design for iPad
  • Enhanced navigation including live traffic updates and incident reports
  • Explore: A new way to browse and discover popular local places to eat, drink, shop, play and sleep
  • Simple 5-star ratings and reviews from friends, plus expert Zagat content
  • Great deals from your favorite brands with Google Offers
  • Indoor maps with walking directions for malls, transit stations, airports and more

One thing that’s still missing from this version of Google Maps is Street View, which is alco available in Google Earth App for iOS.

UPDATE:
To access Street View, a location must be defined by entering an address or dropping a pin, only then the option becomes available. On iPhone and iPod touch, swipe the address panel on the bottom up to bring the Street View option up.

P.S. Don’t ask me anything about iOS 7. It happens to be the only iPad available in the office to grab screenshot from.

So, it’s Matt’s fault?

You might have seen the error message on WordPress.com:

Goshdarnit!

Something has gone wrong with our servers. It’s probably Matt’s fault.

We’ve just been notified of the problem.

Hopefully this should be fixed ASAP, so kindly reload in a minute and things should be back to normal.

Well, I blame Matt too.

The State of Apple in 2013, so far…

The first Quarter of 2013 is in the past, and here’s what we know:

  • Apple has not held any special events in 2013
  • Apple has not released any new products in 2013 so far
Capacity increase in iPad and processor update in MacBook Pro do not count as new product
  • It is Apple’s 37th Anniversary as of April 1, 2013

Things that analysts, investors and pundits are disappointed about, among others:

  • Apple has not released any Television sets as rumored
  • Apple has not released any watches as rumored
  • Apple has not released “cheap iPhone” as rumored
  • Apple has not released gigantic iPhone as rumored

What’s coming from Apple in 2013, assuming they would update their product lines:

  • The successor to Mac Pro
  • The successor to iPhone 5
  • The successor to iPad and iPad mini
  • The successor to iOS 6

Readers, WordPress and Copyright Troll.

Techdirt reports that Prenda Law has just ordered WordPress to hand over all IP addresses of users who accessed either FightCopyrightTrolls and DieTrollDie in the last two years.

It seems that Prenda Law is going on a fishing expedition. At least that’s what I think based on all the Law & Order series (the Original, Special Victims Unit and Criminal Intent) I have been watching for the past 15 years. Yeah, I watch too many of them.

Can Prenda Law legally subpoena WordPress for the iP addresses? Prenda Law first must convince the court that they have the legal right to do so.

WordPress should fight this ridiculously frivolous legal move.
