Prologue

I purchased every single pair of Atoms Shoes that I own and recommend them to my colleagues and friends. You can get $20 off when you order it through this link, and I will also get $20 off for my next purchase.

How it started

I ordered my first pair of Atoms shoes back in February 2019 based on recommendations from someone I knew. Little that I knew, Atoms Model 000 shoes have become my everyday shoes ever since.

Atoms Shoes Model 000 in Black

I clocked in more than 1,000 miles on this very Atoms 000 before I replaced the insoles, and ultimately ordered another pair in black.

I have purchased numbers of Limited-Edition Colorway Model 000, among many, in Gray, Neon, Ocean Blue, Coral Pink, Forest Green, Olive Green, and many more. I think I might have a problem, someone help me please.

Model 000 is priced at $129 for each pair.

On June 9, 2022 I ordered the newly announced Model 001 in Clove Green; also available in all Black, and all White models. They arrived some 5 weeks and a few days later.

Model 001 is priced at $159 for each pair.

One new feature in Model 001 is the lounge with hidden loops that help keeping the tongue up with the laces.

I promptly replaced my favorite Atoms Model 000 in Black with Atoms Model 001 in Clove Green.

I noticed immediately that Model 001 is slightly heavier than its predecessor, about 10% heavier. Yes, I did weigh unworn pairs of Model 000 (1.2 lb. / 544.31 grams) and Model 001 (1.32 lb. / 598.74 grams).

Atoms Model 001 also felt heavier on my feet. I theorize that the perceived weight comes from the new outsoles which is stiffer compared to the ones on Model 000.

I realized that I have doubts on my immediate impressions on Model 001, that’s because I really loved and still love wearing Model 000. I knew that if I were to write a review on Model 001, I would need some times to wear them as my primary shoes.

For the month of August 2022, I wore Model 001 to complete Activity August 2022 Challenge, walk or run for 90.2 miles.

I estimated I walk/run for more than 100 miles wearing Model 001 shoes. These shoes felt great on my feet.

I do find Model 001 have better arch supports as they hug my feet tighter compared to Model 000. I do tend to tie the laces tighter on Model 001.

I also noticed that after wearing Model 001 for more than two months, they still make some noise when walking on hard surfaces. I figured that the harder soles are the culprits.

I received another pair of Atoms Model 001 in Purple (limited-edition color) just a few days ago. Compared to its Purple counterpart, the Clove Green pair which I had been wearing for two months shows a negligible water-and-tear, asides from some dirt stains; especially on the outer soles.

Summary

Atoms Model 000 are great shoes, and Model 001 are even better. Model 001 compared to Model 000:

  • Better Arch and Heel supports
  • More cushions
  • Tongue loops
  • New outsoles provide added tractions
  • Slightly heavier
  • Soles a bit noisier
  • No quarter sizing

Among many things that I love about Atoms shoes in my opinion is its simple design along with the comfort of wearing them. Apparently I am slowly converting my colleagues and friends into Atoms fans.

Currently you still can order pairs of Atoms Model 000 along with Model 001. You can get $20 off when you order it through this link, and I will also get $20 off for my next purchase.

Memory Box: Dual Powered USB Cable

We have been sorting out storage and found a lot of parts, components, cables, etc.

Dual Powered USB Cable

Some devices requires more power than a single USB (1.0) can provide. Therefore a Dual Powered USB Cables were needed.

So many memories…

Idiots in Cars: Riskin’ It All on I-405 Freeway

Dashcam Footage on I-405 South and CA Route 73 Junction

This dash cam footage was captured on July 28, 2022 at 5:31 pm; on Interstate 405 South (I-405 S) and California Route 73 Junction.

The black SUV was rushing from I-405S to 73 at the last moment and hit the orange cone.

Please, don’t do this. I’ve seen the aftermath of an Idiot in Car hit the concrete barrier on a different freeway junction. If you’re about to miss a junction or an exit, keep calm and go to the next exit.

“Hello There”

It took about 4 weeks of waiting and I finally binge-watched “Obi-Wan Kenobi” mini-series on Disney+.

SPOILER ALERT: It took the whole 6 episodes for Obi-Wan to utter his iconic phrase.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, the series, is the proper sequel to 2005 film Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, also known as Star War The Third Gathers: The Backstroke of the West

Counting from 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, that’s twenty-three year span of Ewan McGregor’s portrayal of Obi -Wan Kenobi. It is bitter sweet and full of memories.

As a fan of Star Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi series help me cope with the atrocious Sequel Trilogy. Don’t at me.

Um, what are you trying to tell me, Mint Mobile?

As Mint Mobile user, I received an email that says the following in the subject line:

Your 3G device will not be supported after 7/1

Umm, okay. Then in the email:

Your Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max has been identified as a 3G compatible device, but it is not compatible with 5G or 4G LTE bandwidths. Therefore, you will need to upgrade your phone to a 5G or 4G LTE compatible device before July 1, 2022.

Huh? You are really saying that iPhone 13 Pro Max are useless.
