John Gruber, we need you to rid the world off Paul Thurrott

Editorial:

There are a lot of pseudo tech journalists blabbing their mouth without even using any logic. On of them is none other than Paul Thurrott, the original Microsoft Defender.

Why people still read anything he writes is a mystery. Why Leo Laporte is stroking Thurrott’s ego in TWiT’s Microsoft P.R. Weekly Windows Weekly is also baffling.

This world need John Gruber to once again expose the fraud that Paul Thurrott is.

One main reason why Microsoft P.R. Weekly Windows Weekly is hosted only by Leo Laporte and Paul Thurrott is because anyone can easily debunk Thurrott’s statements.

Thurrott believes that he is the only person who knows the truth, and he is the only person in the world who can do something about it. What about all the lies you have been covering up about Microsoft, Thurrott?

Paul Thurrott Was Hospitalized After Watching New Apple Ads

Dedham, Masschusetts

On the evening of October 19th, 2008 Paul Thurrott was reportedly rushed to the local hospital. According to neighbors, loud strings of profanities were heard over 15 mile radius that Sunday evening. That prompted them to call 911. Paramedic, Firefighter and the Police arrived within a few minutes on the Thurrotts residence .

Upon arrival, Police found Thurrott screaming and yelling “I’m a P.C.!” repeatedly. It took 13 personnel to subdue violent Paul Thurrott.

In his padded cell, Thurrott mentioned that he will announce the “ultimate declaration of war against Apple” on Microsoft behalf on TWiT‘s Microsoft P.R. Weekly Windows Weekly podcast which he co-hosts with Leo Laporte.

Paul Thurrott, the original Microsoft Defender, apparently was watching the new Apple “Get A Mac” ads which were released on that fateful Sunday. According to doctors, Thurrott is lacking sense of humor as well as some common sense. Doctors also found that Thurrot is suffering from some sort of blindness, that causes him to be unconditionally loyal to Microsoft.

According to Leo Laporte, Paul Thurrott insisted that he would be available to record the next install ment of Viva La Microsoft Wekly Windows Weekly episode 80 this Thursday. Thurrott is expected to make a full recovery by then, and he will be cursing Apple for those new “Get A Mac” ads. Thurrott swears that he will bring Apple down for “all the lies” they have been spreading about Microsoft and Windows Vista. Thurrott also adds that he is the only tech journalist in the world who knows the truth about the great Microsoft.

Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld Ads, It’s A Trap!

The moment Microsoft released the now confusingly popular Gates and Seinfeld ads, people has been talking about them. Even a scholar like Ryan Block, formerly of Engadget now with GDGT, disected the ads on TWiT 159. Tech sites are talking about it. Mac-centric sites are bashing it. Paul Thurrot is defending it, then again what else what would The Original Microsoft Defender (a.k.a. Paul Thurrott) would do? Blogs are talking about it. John C. Dvorak even called the ads to have some kind of kinky sex message.

Regardless of whatever the meaning of the ads, Microsoft has achieved one thing. People are talking about it!

Paul Thurrott Spews Garbage Again

As expected, Paul Thurrott the original Microsoft Defender spews garbage again on Microsoft P.R. Weekly a.k.a. Windows Weekly podcast episode 70 (yeah, it is podcast not necast, Leo Laporte).

Thurrott defends Microsoft’s pathetic attempt at damage control known as “Mojave Experiment.”

It seems that Leo Laporte is feeding Thurrott’s ego with some compromises about the propaganda. Thurrott is quick to dismiss all the problems with Microsoft’s “Mojave Experiment” propaganda. According to Mr. Microsoft Defender, “Mojave Experiment” is so effective in making people talking about Windows Vista again. Yeah, people are now talking about how stupid this “Mojave Experiment” propaganda is. Even John C. Dvorak, tech pundit/troll extraordinaire calls “Mojave Experiments” makes Microsoft humiliates ignorant users and itself.

In addition to the “Mojave Experiment” garbage, Thurrott subconsciously acknowledges that Microsoft has only been selling Windows Vista Licenses and not installed on computers. Of course Thurrott eludes to elaborate more regarding the sales numbers (Microsoft P.R./Windows Weekly 70 18:00 mark). Thurrott in the past has been quick to “disect” any statistics regarding non-Microsoft products such as Mozilla Firefox, the iPod and iPhone, Linux, Macs, Nintendo Wii, and Playstation 3.

Thurrott is so excited with Microsoft effort to strike back against Apple “Get A Mac” ads. Then again, Thurrott was so excited about the original Zune.

Paul Thurrott is nothing more than Microsoft P.R. in a Tech Journalist skin.

I’ll Give You 110-Percent!

I was listening to Leo Laporte’s The Tech Guy Show and looking at the show notes.

It says:

“Google looses search ground in June.
Google’s share of the web search market is down to 61%. What is that other 49% using?”

Let’s see. 61% + 49% = 110%

I get it, it’s just like Bender who is made of 30% iron, 40% dolomite, 40% titanium and 40% zinc, with a 0.04% nickel impurity.

OK, it’s a typo on Leo’s Show Notes. It might get fixed by now.

iPhone 3G: The Aftermath

iPhone 3G: The Aftermath

  • Leo Laporte did iPhone 3G coverage marathon at TWiTlive.tv. Staying up for 24 hour covering iPhone 3G launch is pretty crazy.
  • Lots of people bought iPhone 3G.
  • MobileMe is finally up more than 10 minutes at a time.
  • iPhone/iPod touch Software 2.0 is officially released.
  • .Mac website is offline.
  • AT&T seems to be having problems with iPhone 3G activations for significant numbers of customers.

Apple releases Mac OS X Update for MobileMe 1.1 (July 11th, 2008) following Mac OS X Update for MobileMe 1.0 that was released on July 9th, 2008. Available through Software Update.

UPDATE:
A friendly reminder for those waiting for .Mac Webmail to be online again. You can access your .Mac mail through MobileMe. Go to www.me.com/mail/

I’ll post more about the problems AT&T was having related to iPhone 3G activations.
