Digg-ing Joe Rogan

For the past few days, Joe Rogan has become the talk of the internet. It started with the video clip of Joe Rogan confronting Carlos Mencia at the Comedy Store in Hollywood. Carlos Mencia quickly claimed copyright infringements against Joe Rogan. The clips were taken down from YouTube. Rogan then revealed that he’s banned from The Comedy Store. Shortly after, Rogan then revealed that he has parted ways with his agent; the same agent who works for Carlos Mencia.

Joe Rogan was added to the Hollywood Improv roster, and scheduled to perform on February 15, 16, and 17 (2007).

Numbers of Joe Rogan news have been made popular on Digg.com and received thousands of diggs. One article on Digg.com calls on the Digg community to tell Comedy Central to cancel Carlos Mencia’s show.

Many internet users have voiced their opinions and an overwhelming majority are on Joe Rogan side.

Joe Rogan has been vocal in exposing Carlos Mencia for allegedly stealing other comics’ materials and profitting from it. This has been confirmed by numbers of comics whose materials were stolen by Mencia.

Joe Rogan Takes His Act to The Improv

Joe Rogan (Fear Factor and News Radio) revealed that he’s banned from performing at The Comedy Store. Following the “Joe Rogan vs. Carlos Mencia” saga, Rogan was asked by The Comedy Store management to “take a break” from performing there.  Shortly after the news, Rogan contacted The Hollywood Improv and got himself booked for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday show.

Joe Rogan has been vocal in “exposing” Carlos Mencia for stealing other Comics’ jokes. Both Mencia and Rogan finally duked it out in front of live audience at  The Comedy Store on February 10th, 2006. Rogan was backed by other Comics in confronting Mencia for stealing others’ jokes. The was uploaded on Rogan’s site along with YouTube, MySpace and other sites. Mencia quickly demanded YouTube to take down the videos citing that the videos were violating his copyright. The video is still available on Joe Rogan’s own site.

Reno 911! – Movie Premiere and Carlos Alazraqui

Reno 911!: Miami The Movie Premiere will be held at Mann’s Chinese Theater on February 15th at 7:30 pm. The red carpet event will be atended by the main cast members. According to Carlos Alazraqui (Deputy James Oswaldo Garcia), the cast members will be arriving as their respective characters to the premiere.

I sat down with Carlos Alazraqui at The Hollywood Improv on Wednesday Night shortly after his stand-up performance. We talked about Reno 911! movie, his projects, and some other stuff. I will be posting the video after I finished editing it and showing it to Carlos. Check back for the exclusive official video podcast of Carlos Alazraqui at 37prime!

Carlos Alazraqui plays a janitor named “Julio” on NBC’s “Las Vegas” scheduled to air on February 23rd; the same night Reno 911! movie opens in theatres.

Carlos Alazraqui and Cedric Yarbrough (Deputy S. Jones) just finished working on a short-short film soon to appear somewhere, maybe on the internet.

Reno 911! is scheduled to shoot the fifth season sometimes in March 2007. More info to follow.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is available in Mac OS X Universal Binary

Finally, Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is available in Mac OS X Universal Binary.
One of the best and FREE game out there. Did I say FREE?

The PowerPC version was a resource hog. I’m downloading it right now and will test it later today.

UPDATE:
I’m having trouble connecting to most servers.

“I hope ETPro and other major ET mods out there can update and support the new Mac client soonish.
Meanwhile you may have a bit of trouble finding servers that will accept this new client
(the best approach may be to use qstat [3] and filter for servers running etmain/,
I haven’t found a good third party server browser for OSX at this point)”

SlingPlayer for Mac OS X Public Beta2 1.0.1.145 is Available

Previously, I downloaded SlingPlayer for Mac OS X Public Beta2 1.0.1.144 on January 1st 2007 and had a few trouble using it. It required SlingBox firmware upgrade but whenever I launched Slingbox Setup Assistant it always said that it was expired. After a little bit of fiddling around, the SlingPlayer worked without upgrading Slingbox firmware. The Slingbox Setup Assistant still unusable because it’s still expired.

Today I downloaded SlingPlayer for Mac OS X Public Beta2 and the version turned out to be 1.0.1.145. I have yet tried upgrading the Slingbox firmware.

This time I ran the SlingPlayer Uninstaller before installing the latest SlingPlayer. I then launched Slingbox Setup Assistant and it didn’t come up with expiration message. So far, so good. The next thing I need to do next is to upgrade the Slingbox firmware from within the local network.
