Spam Alert: exectsided.net Spammer is now using fabrias.net.

Reports are coming in from readers the exectsided.net has stopped working only to reappear as fabrias.net.

What you need to do is call moniker.com at 1-954-984-8445 and file another complaints. Also file complaints to FTC.

As a matter of fact fabrias.net was registered on November 10, 2010. This domain is registered by the same spammer from exectsided.net.

Please call oversee.net or moniker.com at 1-954-984-8445. Tell them that the same individual is behind the two domain names and might have more domain names to send spam from.

A reader sent a header from the spam and it shows that spams from fabrias.net is related to exectsided.net spammer.

Scam Alert: Fake OpenOffice.org download.

I was going through the server log parsing out spammy referrer links and one of the sites triggered a pop-up:

First off, the official OpenOffice.org site is in its name: OpenOffice.org.

This galleries.secure-softwaremanager.com must be spreading malwares. It actually checks the Operating System. Since I was using Camino Browser on Mac OS X, it returned an error message:

I am adding this url to the site blacklist.

By the way, if you are looking into downloading OpenOffice.org, you might want to check LibreOffice. It is a project forked from OpenOffice.org development.

Using Dropbox with Mac OS X Lion.

UPDATE 3 (2011-07-20):
Dropbox 1.1.35 is compatible from OS X Lion.
If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, you can use the “forums build“.

UPDATE 2:
Dropbox Team Member Rian H. posted a reply assuring that the team is working to make Dropbox fully compatible with Mac OS X Lion.

“hey everyone, just wanted to give you all a heads-up that we’ll be working diligently on making dropbox 100% compatible with 10.7 over the next couple of months. stay tuned!”

UPDATE:
Apparently the current version of Dropbox caused the Finder to crash right after login.
Apple Engineers have confirmed this and recommended Developers to wait until the issue is resolved. If you are a registered Apple Developer, head to Apple Developer Forums for the discussion.

Numbers of users are reporting they found out that Dropbox.app would not work with Mac OS X Lion.

You can’t use this version of the application Dropbox with this version of Mac OS X.

One thread on Dropbox Forums is dedicated to this issue. Dropbox user “Filip S.” came up with a solution:

I’ve figured out a quick fix for this issue. Open Info.plist inside the application bundle, and change “Bundle Version” to 2.0 . Apparently Lion doesn’t allow applications with low bundle versions to run for some reason.

Now Dropbox v.1.0.20 works in Mac OS X Lion.

WordPress 3.1 Is Now Available.

WordPress 3.1 is now available. If you are using WordPress 3.x you can easily update your WordPress installation to version 3.1 with a push of a button. It is wise to back-up your database before doing so.

I have been running WordPress 3.1 since the beta versions. All of my WordPress installations are on version 3.1 as of this morning.
