Apple Makes Tons of Profits, Scumbag Analysts are Still Disappointed.

AAPL-20140127-After-Hour

The short version:

Apple had a great quarter

Apple also provides guidance for its fiscal 2014 second quarter:

  • Revenue between $42 billion and $44 billion
  • Gross margin between 37 percent and 38 percent
  • Operating expenses between $4.3 billion and $4.4 billion
  • Other income/(expense) of $200 million
  • Tax rate of 26.2 percent

Analysts are disappointed because Apple will never make gazillion-bajillion dollars in revenue.

Apple stock took a nose dive in after-hours trading.

To me, these financial analysts are White Collar Criminals who obviously looking to make quick bucks one someone else’s hard work.

Apple Hires Angela Ahrendts as Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores

From Apple PR:

CUPERTINO, California—October 14, 2013—Apple® today announced that Angela Ahrendts, CEO of Burberry, will be joining Apple in a newly created position, as a senior vice president and member of our executive team, reporting to CEO Tim Cook.

Back in September 2013, Apple gave Burberry several units of iPhone 5s ahead of its release date to capture Spring/Summer 2014 Runway Show. In hindsight, Apple must have been considering Angela Ahrendts as its new retail chief for a while.

Interestingly, TechCrunch’s Josh Constine mentioned both Apple and Burberry in one article.

Burberry was able to save itself by hiring a new CEO, Angela Ahrendts, who led an effort to buy back 23 of its licenses and fight counterfeiters.

It seems that Angela Ahrendts is the right person to take on the title Apple Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores.

Apple Shakes Up its Executive Team

Apple announces changes in its Executive Team.

From Apple PR:

CUPERTINO, California—October 29, 2012—Apple® today announced executive management changes that will encourage even more collaboration between the Company’s world-class hardware, software and services teams. As part of these changes, Jony Ive, Bob Mansfield, Eddy Cue and Craig Federighi will add more responsibilities to their roles. Apple also announced that Scott Forstall will be leaving Apple next year and will serve as an advisor to CEO Tim Cook in the interim.

Scott Forstall, who previously in charge of iOS Development, was named by Tech PRess as the one responsible for Apple Maps and the ensuing fiasco. Craig Federighi is taking over iOS Development in addition to OS X.

Forstall is not the only Executive leaving Apple.

Additionally, John Browett is leaving Apple. A search for a new head of Retail is underway and in the interim, the Retail team will report directly to Tim Cook. Apple’s Retail organization has an incredibly strong network of leaders at the store and regional level who will continue the excellent work that has been done over the past decade to revolutionize retailing with unique, innovative services for customers.

John Browett was hired to join Apple in early 2012. Apple’s decision to hire Browett drew a lot of criticism based on his tenures at Dixons.
