Flipboard 2.0 for iOS is out now

Flipboard 2.0 for iOS is now available. As of this post, Android version is still at version 1.9.27.381.

What’s New in Version 2.0

  • ★ You can now collect and save content into your own magazines, tap the new “+” button to get started.
  • ★ Your magazines are public, but can be made private (viewable only to you).
  • ★ Use the new bookmarklet to add items to your magazines from your browser.
  • ★ Get Flipboard notifications when people like, comment or subscribe to your magazines.
  • ★ Easily email or share magazines to Facebook, Twitter, G+, etc
  • ✓ Search is now front and center on your Flipboard, with new improved results.
  • ✓ Faster page-loading and faster flipping performance.
  • ★ Personalized recommendations for more to add to your Flipboard.

I use Flipboard mainly in conjunction with Google Reader. I don’t know if I would still use Flipbard when Google Reader is shut down on July 1, 2013.

Dropbox 2.0.2 is now available

Dropbox 2.0.2 has been released to address a few bugs on Mac and Windows.

Two outstanding bugs that the Dropbox team are still working on:

  • Discrete Graphics cards gets activated which drains your battery.
  • The new popup doesn’t work with Screen Readers on Windows.

Flickr App now supports Hashtags

Flickr App for iOS now support Hashtags.

What’s New in Version 2.11.820

  • Hashtags! Add a hashtag in your photo’s title or description, tap on the hashtag and instantly see all photos with that hashtag.

  • Bug fixes

Everyone loves hashtags! Even Facebook is reportedly working to support hashtags.

Apple Releases OS X 10.8.3 Build 12D78

Apple released OS X 10.8.3 Build 12D78 on Thursday March 14, 2013. This update also includes Safari 6.0.3 for OS X Mountain Lion.

OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.3 is available through Software Update or Apple Support Download page.

  • The ability to redeem iTunes gift cards in the Mac App Store using your Mac’s built-in camera
  • Boot Camp support for installing Windows 8
  • Boot Camp support for Macs with a 3TB hard drive
  • A fix for an issue that could cause a file URL to quit apps unexpectedly
  • A fix for an issue that may cause Logic Pro to become unresponsive when using certain plug-ins
  • A fix for an issue that may cause audio to stutter on 2011 iMacs
  • Includes Safari 6.0.3
