Mac OS X Snow Leopard: Apps that no longer work.

Some apps are not compatible yet with Snow Leopard.

  • Cyberduck | Probably because the Finder is rewritten.
  • iStumbler | Probably because the AirPort Software is different.
  • folder.qlgenerator | Once again, that’s probably the Finder is rewritten.
  • Apple Remote Desktop Admin | The built-in client in Snow Leopard is version 3.3, the current release is 3.2.2.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard: iDisk Icon

Apple changed the iDisk icon for Snow Leopard. The version in Leopard is colored pink and the one in Snow Leopard is colored blue. Blue like the sky with a cloud. Cloud Computing, I get it!

Mac OS X Snow Leopard is scheduled for release sometimes in September 2009. Mac OS X Snow Leopard is priced at:

Apple Releases fixes For Java Security Hole

It is long overdue and Apple finally fixes the long outstanding Java security holes reported back in August and December 2008 (Ars Technica article).

The Java update is available for Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger and Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard. Apparently Apple has included the fixes in the  Developer Preview version of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard: Apple Remote Desktop

The current developer preview of Snow Leopard (Build 10A380) is incompatible with Apple Remote Desktop Admin.
