VirtualBox Goes 3.0 with 3D Graphics Support.

Sun Microsystems has just released VirtualBox 3.0 earlier this week. VirtualBox is a multi-platform open source virtualization software.

New on VirtualBox 3.0:

Support for Microsoft Direct3D for Windows guests, which lets graphically-intensive Windows applications, including computer modeling and games software, run in a virtual environment
Support for the Open Graphics Library (OpenGL) 2.0 standard, which lets high-performance graphical apps run CAM-based software on VirtualBox
Additional support for a wide range of USB devices like iPods and phones.

Apple Updates MobileMe

Apple quietly updates MobileMe today, changing the iDisk and Account icon. As previously announced, Apple will be adding file sharing capabilities for the iPhone through MobileMe. This also means that Apple will be releasing the iDisk Sharing App for the iPhone sometimes soon.

Build date: June 28th, 2009

There are some API changes, but there is nothing major yet. For those who doesn’t do any development on the iPhone OS should have no reasons looking for the disk image. There are no visible major changes.

No further informations are available yet.

Please do not install this beta software unless you want to deal with the bugs. Plus the beta software will expire at a certain date and your iPhone will be rendered useless until you update to the newer software builds.

Skype 4.1 for Windows is Now Available.

Skype (the company) has released Skype 4.1 (the software) for Windows today (that’s June 30th, 2009).

Skype 4.1 for Windows features (among others):

Screen sharing
Send contacts
Birthday reminders

Skype 4.1 is available for Windows 2000, XP and Vista (assuming that it also works in Windows 7).

Friday June 26th, 2009 Apple released Mac OS X Snow Leopard build 10A394 through Software Update. This update weighs in at 655.3MB.

I had quite a crazy morning with Outlook and Exchange Server. Then I went to the Apple Store to get a 15-inch MacBook Pro Battery replaced. It only has 70 full-charge-cycles and it lasts about 5 minutes of charge.

Guy Kawasaki’s Twitter account hijacked, pushes Windows and Mac malware (ZDNet) | Twitter users have been victims of account-hijacking for quite sometimes now. This is not the first time certainly won’t be the last for a foreseeable future. Obviously this is the same trojan aimed at Mac and Windows users. It is way too obvious that ActiveX plugin on Mac OS X is a trojan. Please be careful no matter what operating system you’re using.
