Picasa Phishing Spam

We’ve been getting reports from a lot of people that they are also getting the fake Picasa email.

First and foremost, Picasa (Google) does not send you any email regarding your photos. There are no Picasa Photo Contest. Picasa does not actively “search” for your damaged photos.

Spam Alert: Fake Email from Picasa

Since when Google sends “corrupted” photo notifications to Picasa Web Albums user? The layout of this spam/phishing email looks exactly the same like the other phishing/spam emails purporting from iMessage, iCloud, Whatsapp, Google Voice, etc.

Google Updates Picasa Again.

Just a short time ago Google updated Picasa and today another update appears.

I have not checked it on my Windows computer if the update is also available. This one is definitely for Mac OS X.

I don’t really know when the update was actually released, Gogole Software Update just informed me that Picasa 3.5.1 for Mac OS X is now available.

Picasa for Windows is still at 3.5.0 at the time of this post.

Google Sync with push Gmail and Picasa 3.5

Google has been busy today with the release of Picasa 3.5 and Google Sync with push Gmail.

Google has just added push support into Google Sync. Google Sync supports BlackBerry, iPhone, Nokia S60, Windows Mobile and other phones. iPhone users now can have push Gmailon their phones.

Google Sync uses Microsoft Exchange Active Sync Protocol. iPhone can only have one Exchange ActiveSync account configured.

Today Google also releases Picassa 3.5 with name tags.
