Eve of WWDC 2011: iCloud is not replacing MobileMe.

Post WWDC Keynote UPDATE:
MobileMe becomes part of iCloud.

According a person who claims to be an Apple Executive and definitely is not Phil Schiller, iCloud is not replacing MobileMe. Does anyone remember the mess Apple was in during the transition from .Mac to MobileMe?

Our resident self-proclaimed telepath said that iCloud includes music, iOS App, extension to iDisk and much more. A lot of iCloud services are tied to iOS 5.

We’ll find out on Monday June 6th, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.

Apple Mail.app and MobileMe Junk Filter need a lot of work.

Apple Mail.app and MobileMe Junk Filter need a lot of work. On daily basis, I mark too many of obviously junk mail on Mail.app and MobileMe such as the ones from bluesquareframe.com and LOL messaging. Gmail and and Yahoo! Mail junk filter work a lot better than the one Mail.app and MobileMe service have.

I saw this in my Mail.app:

An email from an Apple Store with a sales receipt was automatically marked as Junk by Mail.app. That is so ironic.

Apple needs to improve the Junk Mail Filter for MobileMe service. There are enough complaints from users that their MobileMe mail does not filter junk mail as it should. Apparently marking those mail as junk does not seem to improve the junk mail filter algorithm.

Apple updates MobileMe and releases “Find My iPhone” App.

As promised, Apple has just updated MobileMe with the new Mail and Find My iPhone. The newly updated MobileMe adds supports for iOS 4 which is due for release on June 21st, 2010.

In addition to MobileMe upgrade, Apple also releases “Find My iPhone” app for iOS devices.

MobileMe is a $99 service from Apple with push email, contacts, and calendar events over the air to iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and PC.

You can get MobileMe at discounted prices at Amazon.com.

MobileMe is also available for 60-day free trial.

MobileMe Mail Beta is Somewhat iPad Ready.

Apple is rolling out MobileMe Mail Beta to members who signed up for the beta. As expected, the new Mail Beta is somewhat iPad ready.

This is particulary handy because sometimes some other people might want to check their MobileMe Mail. Currently it is impossible to use the iPhone or iPod touch for guests to check their MobileMe Mail without having to login through the Mail App.

MobileMe iDisk App Update is Available.

If you’re an iPhone and MobileMe user, get the MobileMe iDisk App update now.

MobileMe is available from Apple for $99.99 (Single User) and $149.99 (Family Pack). Go to Apple Retail Store, and often they will sell you MobileMe on a discounted price.

If you’re want to get MobileMe, get it from Amazon for an everyday discounted price (2010.02.17).

If you’re not a MobileMe user, I recommend Dropbox. Even if you’re not an iPhone user, Dropbox is highly recommended.
