Angry Birds is available at Mac App Store.

Angry Birds is now available at the newly launched Mac App Store.

On Monday January 5th, 2011, Rovio mentioned in their blog that Angry Birds now available in the Intel AppUp center for netbooks and laptops. It was a little bit odd since there were no mentions of Mac version. Apparently they were a bit hush-hush about it and waited for the launch of Mac App Store today.

Angry Birds for Mac is $4.99, 50% off of its regular price. At least that’s what they said at Mac App Store.

Apple Remote Desktop gets an update.

UPDATE:
Apple Remote Desktop 3.4 update is now available through Apple Support Downloads page.

UPDATE:
Apple Remote Desktop is also available on Mac App Store. Since I’ve installed the update through Software Update, I cannot tell if the already installed ARD could be updated through Mac App Store. I’ll try it on a different Mac later today.

Apple Remote Desktop 3.4 update appears after installing Mac OS X 10.6.6.

Apple just released Mac OS X 10.6.6 coinciding with Mac App Store Opening. So much for the rumors that it would open at 12:00 PM Eastern Time. The build number is 10J567, while the previous versions carry the build number 10J537.

Will we see Mac OS X 10.6.6 today?

Thursday January 6th, 2011.

Mac App Store is scheduled to open today. Some sites are reporting that the Mac App Store will open at 12:00 PM Eastern Time or 5:00 PM UTC. As the zero hour draws near, it is unclear if Mac OS X 10.6.6 would be a required prerequisite for Macs to access the Mac App Store. According to some reports, Apple seeded Mac OS X 10.6.6 build 10J537 to Developers back in December 2nd, 2010.

We will see if Mac App Store requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 in 4 hours and 13 minutes from this original post time.

This Coming Week: CES and Mac App Store.

January 6th, 2011 marks the kick-off for International Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas. Companies will be showcasing their upcoming product line-up for 2011. Expect a lot of tablet computing devices from different companies. Android will the the OS Flavor of the show. Microsoft will be there, again with their version of tablet. I’m looking forward to new DSLR cameras from Canon and Nikon. Maybe this year we will see improved consumer level camcorders.

January 6th, 2011 is also the scheduled opening day for Mac App Store. This also means Mac OS X 10.6.6 will be available shortly before the Mac App Store opening.

ADATA S599 Sandforce 128 GB SSD is on sale for $199 at Amazon.

ADATA S599 Sandforce 128 GB SSD is on sale for $199 at Amazon. I paid $249 for the ADATA S599 Sandforce 128 GB SSD back in late October and installed it on my 15-inch MacBook Pro Core i7. It has been a great experience so far. The 128GB of storage space is relatively small, but I’ve learned to organize files better. Having an external FireWire 800 drive is really handy.

Forty-five days into using the an SSD on my MacBoo Pro, I highly recommend it to anyone.
