How to type “Leo Laporte” on The iPhone

Leo Laporte has been complaining about the iPhone not letting him typing “Laporte” on the iPhone. As of recent, Laporte still complains that iPhone 2.0 still won’t let him type his last name.

This one goes to Leo Laporte and all The Laportes in the world:

I’ll Give You 110-Percent!

I was listening to Leo Laporte’s The Tech Guy Show and looking at the show notes.

It says:

“Google looses search ground in June.
Google’s share of the web search market is down to 61%. What is that other 49% using?”

Let’s see. 61% + 49% = 110%

I get it, it’s just like Bender who is made of 30% iron, 40% dolomite, 40% titanium and 40% zinc, with a 0.04% nickel impurity.

OK, it’s a typo on Leo’s Show Notes. It might get fixed by now.

iPhone 3G: The Aftermath

  • Leo Laporte did iPhone 3G coverage marathon at TWiTlive.tv. Staying up for 24 hour covering iPhone 3G launch is pretty crazy.
  • Lots of people bought iPhone 3G.
  • MobileMe is finally up more than 10 minutes at a time.
  • iPhone/iPod touch Software 2.0 is officially released.
  • .Mac website is offline.
  • AT&T seems to be having problems with iPhone 3G activations for significant numbers of customers.

Apple releases Mac OS X Update for MobileMe 1.1 (July 11th, 2008) following Mac OS X Update for MobileMe 1.0 that was released on July 9th, 2008. Available through Software Update.

Paul Thurrott Turns into A 13-Year-Old

In Windows Weekly 66, Paul Thurrott turns into a whiny 13-year-old. Thurrott feels that he is the one to defend Microsoft against some mainstream journalists. The argument is valid, but essentially Thurrott debunked himself for not being a Microsoft (original) Defender (not to be confused with Microsoft Windows Defender, the anti-spyware software. Thanks clintthewookie for the corrections.).

Close to the 18 minute mark of the podcast (note to Leo Laporte: “netcast” term is lame), Thurrott mentions that with 1 terabyte hard drive and 4GB RAM, it is essentially OK to have “bloated software” just because the resources is there. Gee, that sounds like Thurrott echoing Bill Gates.

A little bit after, Thurrott was saying: “The version of Mac OS X that was available when Windows 95 shipped…..”

Leo Laporte did not even catch it waht ever the reason was.

Series of Tubes to Paul Thurrott: There was no Mac OS X back in 1995. Not even in 1998. Don’t you remember your MacBook Core Solo?
